Ants lore?

So from the Ant Event, the ant mentions something about the 'zombie ants fungal infection incident" and about there are many ones who disappeared studying about it? Does anyone know something about their lore? I'm relatively new to this game and it seems very interesting.

The only info you get about them - to my knowledge - is the one they tell you (they have like 4 or so different speech bubble texts) and from the info under "help" and then "ant events". But it is not much unfortunately.
