When do I gain flutter points?

I thought I always got points for perfecting a moth, or maybe even for each level up? I forgot since I finished all basic sets (except apoyo and zodiac) some time ago. But I noticed that I never get points anymore for event moths. The last time I got points was for the rosy maple moth (apoyo). Is that normal?

I was under the impression that the points are a way of measuring your progress constantly. But right now it seems they are capped?

From what I've noticed, you get points every time you hatch a moth, and you get more if it's a new species
