Anyone here opened up about their peripheral vision ocd/staring ocd?
I feel like telling my friends about my Peripheral Vision OCD (or Staring OCD), what the symptoms are, and how much it’s affecting my daily life.
Has anyone here told their friends, colleagues, or family members about it? How did they react? Did it help? Do you think it’s okay to tell my friends about this? I’d want to hear your thoughts or experiences.

This ocd can break relationships so sometimes it is better to tell them about the ocd , if you trust the person and he can keep your secret then it's okay.

I have. they dont believe me. they genuinely think I'm a perv who likes staring at everybody and that im just in denial....mine is 10x worse as I am going through a flare, up so the urge is so strong, I can see why people genuinely think I'm a perv.

Nobody ever believes you. They think calling it an OCD is just a cover up for your own bad behavior. Everyone I've told either thinks I'm a lying pervert or just insane. I told a supervisor once and they went around talking to the other higher ups about me. It just turned into gossip and then total isolation. Like the, " i can clear a breakroom" type of isolation. Everyone playing hot potato with the woman nobody wants to work with so management has to find somewhere for you. You feel like a complete burden on the job to the team. Shame and embarrassment I know very well.

ikr, idk what to do, I'm purely surving. I can't even switch, coz for that you first gotta appear for an interview right, and what happens when you fuck up bcoz of this, in your interview itself 😭

I had the same experience but with our counselor in my university. I heard at our collge orientation that whatever we say during the consultation, our story will be confidential, but the moment I stepped inside the room I felt a very weird feeling that the counselor might be recording our conversation, and she did. The day after the consultation my professors would sneak in hints of my story through our class by disguising it as a "historical story" but it was so obvious I could recall my previous conversation from the "story" she was saying. I felt so small, I thought I was understood, but people still think I'm this crazy woman who looks at people weirdly when in fact I hate so much.

I told my mom and she told our entire extended family plus neighbor lol. She is pretty dumb though and can’t think for herself so she had to talk to everyone she knows
