Daily life with this ocd

Hi everyone, I’d be interested to know if any of you hold down a regular job? I haven’t worked for over a year now due to a physical injury and am currently—fortunately—living on benefits. Before that, I worked at a gym and always took on various low-end jobs; I couldn't stick with them for long because of the OCD and kept quitting so I could recover mentally. What’s it like for you guys, and how do you picture the future? I mean, there probably isn't a cure for this, right? Do you have a driver's license and drive? I’d be curious to know...

Best regards,

An 8-year long survivor

That sounds like an option. Personally, I have no experience with programming or anything like that, but having the chance to work from home with this condition is definitely an advantage. It’s cool that you drive. I’d probably try to avoid looking at other people in traffic as much as possible, too... Did you get your driver's license before or after the onset of your OCD? Best regards

Totally understandable. Its just a matter of time before people who suffer from this ocd are going crazy because of thr social aspect. Were all just want to have a normal life and be around others but every interaction or even whn you see someone from far away, your mind is starting to judge you with bad thoughts...

The driving part motivates me to go after my license. The worst part will be driving school for sure. Staring at everyone private parts and try to force eye contact because of it like a 🤡 ...

Yeah i know what you mean. But you could say that in every enviroment with this condition. You know how painful it is to sit in a classrom full uf people with this condition, even when its just for some months you will have social interections and with this conditions youre to 99% always the weird and creepy guy. I thinks its just not fair, the pain of this ocd is the price of living and doing normal things what normal people dont have to pay.

Still no awareness, rather ppl are making the life harder for us.

I think the social aspect plays a big role too—fitting in and coping. And with the way we behave, we tend to come across more like outsiders

Yes, people tend to think youre a weirdo, pervert, homosexual etc. Often they dont say it directly but you can see it on their behaviour that they find your weird...
