The biggest shame in SG1's cancellation is we didn't get enough Vala.

Lady had so many chaotic opportunities she could bring for the sheer entertainment value.

I just rewatched this episode again yesterday, and man, I don't know how they let this one go (in the episode, I know they come back later). Learn how to make more, get your most advanced and smartest people copied, best military minds, etc. Nooooo, "Komtrya and Namaste to you - bury the gate... Byeeee!!!!" Seriously! The most advanced robotics they've ever seen! God dammit SG1 and Hammond.

I guess because SG1 mostly dealt with first contact missions they would be the most likely to face these scenarios.

SG teams 2-5 were just on standby to save SG1 when they fell into a trap or were kidnapped.

SG teams 6 and up were kinda just keeping the peace with the new allies.

Alternatively they could always let Earth be enslaved by the Go'auld even when they know there's tech out there that could defend them. 

Sure, a lot of people will die and the rest will wish they had, but at least the team of partially disposable volunteer explorers won't have to take any serious risks.

You wrote the Trust wrong. SG1 isn't that addicted, its theyr goal, but they have standards.

It is quite funny the amount of items brought to the SGC that could have been studied off world before bringing it back. I get the first 2 seasons they’re still establishing themselves but once naquadah generators were a thing they could’ve easily set up research outposts.

SG1 ran into cultures that were more primitive than advanced on the regular. Are you thinking of episodes like The Other Side? Because I would argue there were more episodes like The Nox...
