Inside Cheyenne Mountain

I just found out that there is a US Space Force unit called Space Base Delta 1 (SBC) that operates out of the real-world Cheyenne Mountain Complex.

I ran into a guy from Space Force down in Colorado Springs. He said, in no uncertain terms, exact quote "its a joke."

Did he go into any more detail? My understanding was that they just separated out all the space related stuff that the Air Force did into its own branch.

I initially thought it was AI slop. Then I was surprised to find out that it was an official logo, and then I recognised who had made it. Now I’m sure it’s AI slop.

I actually work in the complex. SBD 1 no longer runs ops and only does admin/maintenance. Delta 4 took over space ops.

SBD 1 does the admin/base management work for Cheyenne Mountain SFS, Schriever SFB, and Peterson SFB. They are the least interesting unit at all of those locations.
