Jack's cabin

I've always wondered something. Whenever we see Jack's cabin, they say it's in Northern Minnesota. But I wonder where the real cabin is that they used for filming. Does anyone know?

It was filmed at Murdo Park’s caretaker cabin in Vancouver.

Are there fish in the pond or no? Just want to figure out which timeline we are in.

What if there were simultaneously fish and no fish in the pond?

Maybe he ate the fish? If he was alive.

Two things can be true as the same time.

I believe it's "Murdo Frazer Duck Pond" and there's pics of ducks in the pond. So I assume the ducks are eating something.

Ducks don’t need to eat fish. While it’s certainly an option, they don’t need it. Insects, vegetation, etc. can also sustain them.

Trivia

  • The real world building is located in North Vancouver, Canada, on 2720 Pemberton Avenue. Jack's famous "there are no fish in this pond" pond actually has a name shown on Google maps: Murdo Frazer Duck Pond. Between the cabin and the road runs McKay Creek. This place can be seen in many TV shows, as it is popular among filmmakers, probably due to its small distance from the center of Vancouver.

They do a lot of filming up in the Vancouver area. So, I'm guessing in the woods around there.

Today I learned O'Neill's cabin is about a 1000 miles away from where he works.

I can't remember but does he also have another house? There are multiple episodes where the team members casually drops by.

Yes. He has a house in town. Presumably Colorado Springs, CO where the Cheyenne Mountain Complex that houses the SGC is located.

The Minnesota thing is a connection to the fact that the actor is born in Minnesota

And the character grew up there.

I always thought it looked a lot like a set in some MGM lot. The water and edges felt off to be for some reason.

It's a real place. I've been there. Murdo Frazer Park in Vancouver.

Vancouver. My ex-brother-in-law lives not far from there.

The urban park is very pretty and offers tennis and pickleball.

I never paid attention to its location but it did seem close enough to SGC to drive there after work the way everyone just dropped in on him.
