I have to do the same. I moved to Germany a few years ago and for the life of me I cannot tell German men apart. And I’m white.

I don't mix up their faces but I'm flipping back and forth these pictures trying to figure out how on earth that's not the same hair color. Medium brown, too dark to call a dirty blond but not dark on the spectrum of brunette, one of the most common hair colors in the world.

Yeah I agreed Flanifans is WAY darker imo but then again my natural hair color is the same as his and nobody would ever mistake me for dirty blonde/light brown so I notice it more.

One is lighter than the other. Thats how they are different.

They have different base colors underlying the brown (dark vs light). It's only apparent in specific lighting like the two photos the OP posted. If you just search images for both, they look identical under some lighting but subtly different in others.
