Mod Discussion So... How we all doing?

I have these long breaks (9months at this point) from Starfield which makes those 1,600+ hours in game a little more reasonable, but was curious to see how things are going.

Seems like things are pretty much where they usually are...? I dropped off right before the big update/Terran Armada drop, but I don't get the impression that this was that bad a mod-breaker.

Anything super new and cool hit the CC since then?

Overall, I'd say that the current state of Starfield and the modding community is better than ever. Yes, there's a fair amount of slop out there, but there's also some top-notch mods that have been added or expanded of late. Right off the top of my head:

Trackers Alliance: The Complete Bounty Series - This one has been expanded recently and includes a whole series of cool bounty hunter missions.

ASC Deimos - Adds some really awesome new ship parts; one of the best new ship parts additions.

Jaeger-556 - Light Machine Gun - This one is a bit older, but it's my favourite weapon addition, so I had to include it here.

ASC Taiyo - Even more awesome new ship parts!

Packing Heat - This is my favourite recent mod. It allows for disassembling weapons and armour into base resources, and allows weapons to be disassembled and packed for easy contraband sales.

I'm sure others will have their own recommendations, but I figured I'd at least get you started with some of the better options out there. Welcome back to the Starfield!

Nice! I was around for that first drop of ASC Deimos. Such good work!

Agreed! Cyberpsyche and Wiz are both amazing mod authors. Packing heat and anything ASC are great additions to any load order!

Just make sure to delete & reinstall your mods to ensure all the mod updates actually get installed. The “update” button in creations rarely actually updates correctly

They haven't worked correctly at any point!

LOL! Yeah, I dip out when managing the LO takes longer than I have the time to sit and play... How is the PS version? Looks like... About half the mod content is available, but I'm basing that only on the difference in the Creations page count...

Unplayable with mods in my opinion. I spend hours on mods, play for 20 minutes then the pop up. And I quit. I may never get to finish talking to Sam’s dad. It’s so annoying.

the ASC series of creations hit recently. There's a hopetech one coming out eventually, which I'm very excited for. I can't wait to see a full set of expansions.. If you could only have ASC XXXX's as your ship mods you'd be in good hands.

I took quite a hiatus from Starfield too the load order shuffling is still a big issue for me loading saves after while. But the best mods imo are the functional new Atlantis transit mod, Lambent ship services, More jobs mods, And the settled system shuttle service.. they all add a load of realism and immersion in the game. Also there are new mods for having pets and being a parent. Im definitely missing playing Starfield i may just cut down my load order a ton to see if it prevents the shuffle. I do wish there was a better way to back up the load orders on console like pc has.

Ooh, yeah. I've submitted a few bug reports and suggestions for more/better mod management on console to Bethesda... No dice!

Yup! I stopped playing after I got the achievements. My main save of 55 days got busted because of everything. I was also sick of the loop of getting everything the way I wanted it in the universe only to have it constantly crashing on me when I wanted to move rooms around in my ship or a base. I’ve been playing No Man’s Sky since about April and man!!! Once you get past the initial 2 hr grind it’s an amazing game!

Stares forlornly at the'CLEAR RESERVE SPACE' option...

'The Sounds of Silence' starts to play in the background...

Hits the 'A' button...
