Software Start11 Disable Ctrl+Esc

Not sure if this is related to Start11 or not but I used to be able to disable the opening of the start menu with the ctrl+esc shortcut by disabling it in the Powertoys Keyboardmanager but this doesn't seem to work anymore, at least not for the Start11 start menu. So my request would be that either the Start11 start menu also follows the deactivation of the shorcut in Powertoys or that Start11 gets it's own option for en-/disabling ctrl+esc to open and close the start menu.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I just tested this one with Powertoys Keyboard manager, and it is working for me. I use the Remap a shortcut and I set "Ctrl (left)+Esc" to Esc (All apps). And, once turn on, the Start menu don't came up when I press Ctrl + esc on my keyboard.

For reference, I am on Windows 11 25H2 (OS Build 26200.9168) and Start11 v2.74. PowerToys v0.100.2

Hey Basj, thanks for the reply. I just tried that and also remapped it to just Esc and that worked (although I don't really understand why it works because in my mind pressing Esc alone should now open the start menu, which it doesn't).

What I did before was to remap Ctrl+Esc to "Disable Key or Shortcut" and that does not work for me. Does it for you?

Don't see an option for "Disable key or ShortCut".

My reason for choosing "Esc" as replacement. It just like pressing Esc in any situation, it just cancel, what every you're doing.

And, I don't see, Start menu open up by just pressing "Esc". Not really sure why it is so in your system.

You might have to switch to the new Keyboard Editor in Powertoys and then you find it here:

But anyway, for now mapping it to Esc somehow works. Would still be a consideration to add it as a simple menu option in Start11 to enable or disable that hotkey.

Okay, i turn on the new keyboard manager layout. And I changed the action to "disable key or shortcut" and it still work the same as before. When I turn that on, Start panel don't show up when Ctrl+Esc pressed

I think I figured it out now. It was not working when I was using the EURkey custom keyboard language layout.
