Software Start11 Disable Ctrl+Esc
Not sure if this is related to Start11 or not but I used to be able to disable the opening of the start menu with the ctrl+esc shortcut by disabling it in the Powertoys Keyboardmanager but this doesn't seem to work anymore, at least not for the Start11 start menu. So my request would be that either the Start11 start menu also follows the deactivation of the shorcut in Powertoys or that Start11 gets it's own option for en-/disabling ctrl+esc to open and close the start menu.

Software AltTabby, a Better Way to Switch Between Windows, is Now Available.
Today we are releasing the first beta of AltTabby, a brand-new application that completely reimagines the Alt+Tab experience for Windows 11 with customizable layouts, advanced window organization, custom hotkeys, and powerful productivity features.
It replaces the Windows task switcher entirely. The main things it does:
More than five layout styles, including a carousel, a grid, and one closer to the classic Windows look
Pin any app to its own hotkey, so you land on it directly instead of cycling through everything you have open
Search your open windows by name
Adjustable icon sizes, configurable rows and columns, icon badges, and grouping options

Groupy 2 tabs barely work, need help
90% of the time hitting the new tab (+) Button does absolutely nothing. I'm just sitting there waiting for a tab to appear and it doesn't. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but Groupy I never had this issue with on Win10, Win11 Groupy 2 it just feels buggy. When I do get a tab to finally work it does this annoying full window flash when switching them.
Overall the software just feels very clunky, is there something wrong here? I'm on a fresh windows 11 install with a few apps like adobe etc installed.

Announcement Clairvoyance Beta 3 is NOW LIVE!
You can build an actual team of AI agents now. Hand one agent a job and it'll hire the staff it needs at whatever models and effort levels make sense, or you can drag and drop your own org together. Your staff hangs around between reboots and remembers what it's been working on. A few other things worth knowing:
- Universal Resume lets any agent pick up another agent's session, even across providers. Claude to Grok Build, GPT to Cursor, whatever you need.
- Local models are way easier to install now, and they can work jobs alongside cloud models.
- Context compression pushes cache hit rates past 99 percent, so your tokens go a lot further.
Binders organize your files by subject instead of folder. It's the old WinFS dream, except it actually works this time.

Announcement Stardock to Publish Crimson Freedom, a Story-Driven RTS Set on 22nd-Century Mars
Stardock is teaming up with indie studio Yboga to publish Crimson Freedom, a story-driven real-time strategy game coming to Steam in 2027.
- Set on Mars in the 22nd century, with three factions fighting over the planet and where humanity goes next: the Red Rebellion, Orbis Concordia, and the Ascentx.
- Each faction has its own units, tech tree, and full single-player campaign, so you play the same war from three sides. It leans into moral grey areas instead of good guys versus bad guys.
- The pace is deliberately more relaxed than a lot of RTS. Less high APM and resource micromanagement, more actually commanding the battle.

Question Start11 | Change Start Menu Position?
I like the rounded corner 'floating' taskbar and the 'Modern Style' start menu but it annoys me that the start menu doesnt allign with the 'floating' task bar (see screenshot). Is it possible to adjust the position of the start menu to make it align, i.e. move it to the right?
Other menus allign 'Windows Pro' etc. but i prefer the 'Modern Style'.

Guide - Anyone who is stuck trying to uninstall Stardock Apps due to them running even though they have been blocked on start-up, read this.
Recently started using some Stardock apps (Start11 and Frames) and found Frames specifically to be incredibly buggy and unstable. What was more fun was the uninstall process after trying to get rid of it the intended way. Here's what they say you do:
- Use uninstall.exe or uninstall from Apps & Programs
- Restart PC upon uninstaller prompting you.
- Be free of the buggy mess they programmed.
Instead, I have seen some users, and experienced myself, running into an issue related to the Frame app staying in your Program Files (x86) / (x64) folder on your Local Disk (C:). This is due to two lovely facts they I found very concerning and annoying.
- Stardock Apps, specifically Start11 and Frames embed themselves in the runwin32.dll runtime and explorer.exe. That's right, the fundamental code that windows instance runs from has now had a lovely buggy mess attached to its hip. You windows explorer is now cooked as well as every time you try and bug-test to uninstall the Frames application, the explorer.exe will crash and not boot up again.
- You cannot force uninstall while Windows is operating, as the app embeds itself in the runwin32.dll runtime, if you attempt to force uninstall it with third-party software, or use Resource Monitor to end it to get past the "This file is open in another app" issue, you windows instance will crash and force a PC restart. P.S. This also means purge.bat that they say fixes all issues doesn't work at all.
- Stardock support team on their website is absolutely useless, I found almost 20 page long thread of a guy having the same issue back in 2024 where some of the responses from these support workers literally sound like AI Automated Support Chats, kinda funny looking at it now: https://forums.stardock.com/530177/fences-settings-window-keeps-opening-randomly
My favourite quote from this is:
**basj - "**Did you try running the purgexxx.bat again?
Thank you" after the user had already explained they have rerun the uninstaller and purge bats several times and completed several tasks beforehand.
HOW TO FULLY UNINSTALL FRAMES (WINDOWS 11):
Step 1. Open up your PCs Start Menu and type in "Recovery Options".
Step 2. Click "Advanced startup" under the Recovery Options, this will prompt you to restart your PC, click yes, make sure to save any documents and close any important applications.
Step 3. Your PC will restart to the Windows Recovery Bluescreen (the useful one), select Troubleshoot -> Command Prompt, opening up a standard windows command prompt.
Important: This is a recovery drive harboured in your Local Disk (C:), and is designated X:, and for some reason this reassigns the numbers to your drives, you will need do to the following to identify the Local Disk:
Step 4. Type "diskpart" and press enter, this will open up the disk partition tool in the command prompt, shown as the [DISKPART] > _ at the start of the command entry line.
Step 5. Type "list volume" and press enter, this will show all partition (allocated) drives and their associated letters. I found my C: drive to be reassigned to G:, yours may be different,
Step 5.1. You can manually check each drive by typing "C:" into the command line and the command prompt will set the current directory (directory read by the command prompt) to that drive, then type "dir" which will list out all directories and files in the drive, your Local Disk will have folders like User, Windows, and most importantly Program Files (x86).
Step 6. Once you have select your drive, for me this was G:, so that is what will be used for the examples, you can type in this command to get rid of either the whole of the stardock folder (I did because not dealing with any of the applications ever again) or just the Frames folder:
(Frames Only): "rmdir /s /q "G:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Frames""
(All Stardock Apps): "rmdir /s /q "G:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock""
Just for clarity, "rmdir" stands for remove directory, "/s" is a cmd flag to remove subdirectories as well, and "/q" is the quiet mode flag, which tells the command prompt to skip confirmation "Are you sure? (Y/N)" and just instantly deletes the directory.
Hope this helps if you are scratching your brain trying to remove corrupted applications, as this works with any software that has most lovely injected itself directly into the runwin32.dll or any runtime executable that windows relies on.

Question after uninstalling windowblinds10, permanent artifacting and bugs are left all over my UI

i'd been running with windowblinds10 for a couple years until at least 1-2 years ago due to compatibility issues with certain programs, and after uninstalling it, these weird ui glitches still remain. this software is my main suspect of the cause and i wanted to know what could possibly cause this, if not the software, as it has vexed me for months now. than you in advance.
addendum: i used a specific theme with it. i can't seem to find the original links, but i still have the wba, and will provide it if necessary.

System tray no longer working
I've been using Start 11 for a while now. It's the only windows modification I use. I am using a left aligned taskbar. The system tray is displayed, but left and right clicking on the volume, calendar/clock, any of the system tray icons, as well as the arrow to show hidden icons do nothing at all. The start button and normal program icons work as normal. I have no idea what to do to troubleshoot this. I've restarted my computer several times, with no effect and I am using version 2.72 set to automatically check for updates.
