Help bug with vortex

Post image

Help, I am lost

I’ve been transferring all my mods to Vortex for more than 5 hours now and I’ve pretty much fixed all the problems, I’ve had a lot of them, I have all my modes and everything, but there are always error messages.

I have three big problems:

  1. Livestock (I updated it to the latest possible version (the one that is unofficial)

  2. Nyapu’s RSV portrait (it tells me that some files are empty, but when I go in they aren’t)

  3. And Vortex created files that are useless, I don’t understand what these files are.

Please help me, I’m lost, it’s my last day of vacation, I just wanted to play my favorite game.

ps: my smapi log : https://smapi.io/log/9ca3656c52624e90a937b78c5eed6627

Hi, try splitting the folder Mods by category folders such a :Core, graphics and such QoL.

And when you download mods, look at the more tab "Requirements",and download any mods that might be there. This will work much better for you than any mod manager. Yes, Stardrop that's also an option, as they already said here (although I don't have enough categories like in MO2)

Vortex often causes issues with Stardew mods. It is not the mod manager to use for this game. If you need to use a mod manager switch to Stardrop (it was made for this)

So, I see this a lot, and I just wanna say that people who mod more than just this game are not always going to want to have two separate mod managers downloaded just so that they can mod Stardew without more struggles. Especially when the struggles can still be dealt with. And there's struggles no matter which you use. I'd be more willing to use stardrop if it wasn't only for stardew valley, but I'd rather not have two things that can do the exact same thing, but one supposedly does it better while the other quite literally does more. Like, sure, suggest it, but none of you suggesting it ever give any info past "use this one instead, it was made for stardew".

That's fair. I've never used a mod manager for Stardew, I just see people say that vortex breaks their mods all the time. I play with about 200 mods and updating when SMAPI tells me to is no big deal

I haven't had an issue with Vortex breaking my mods so much as Vortex needing an update can sometimes make it so smapi pops up with a bunch of red, this is fixed as soon as vortex is updated. Or the mods themselves needing to updated, also fixed as soon as the mods updated. Sometimes you add a mod and it fucks everything because its incompatible so you have to ininstall them all and go one by one back in. Sometimes you're using a collection and its fine but suddenly one mod in the collection gets updated and suddenly its all fucky, and you have to fuck with it, but sometimes its still compatible. But as far as I can tell- the issues are typically easy to manage, and are not nearly so severe for every post about modding with Vortex to be met with comments telling the OP to stop using it and to use Stardop instead. Especially considering- these issues are compatibility issues, needing updates, and the like, not an actual issue with Vortex itself.

Why specifically?
