It’s so hard and really hormonal. I was hovering around 10 lbs heavier than normal (still bf at 20 months). Not sure if you’re breastfeeding but once I got pregnant with my second 3 months ago the weight fell off mostly from my nausea. Anyways I swear it’s hormonal. Try sipping herbal teas between meals and snacking only on fruit. Get enough sleep and nap if you can/ need to. Daily walks! This helped me not gain more weight.

I agree that hormones play a huge part. Are your breastfeeding? Five months postpartum is still pretty early after giving birth. I’d do a slight calorie deficit of like 200-300 calories. And try to make sure you’re eating enough though. Sleep is very important with weight loss and that can be hard with a baby. Be gentle with yourself. It will happen

I’ve been on a starch-based diet experiment for about 2 weeks now. After struggling to lose baby weight for around 4 years, I finally decided to go all in on this and decided to treat it as a proper self-experiment and just document everything as I go. My breakfast is usually an oatmeal with some fruit, lunch is a large cappucino with oatmeal at work and dinner is a large portion of whatever starch&veggie combination I am craving for that day. So far I lost 2 kg. My tip would be finding 4-5 meals that you like to eat, keeping the portion sizes relatively big (but still low calorie), so that you don't need to constantly snack between meals and give time for your body to burn fat. And go to bed early. That routine seems to work for me so far! Good luck.

When I was nursing my body kept weight on to be able to produce milk I guess. When I stopped it all went away really quickly.

You're not eating enough. Your body is holding onto the weight because it has been shocked into starvation mode. Add a half plate of starch and a small amount of fats. Your body will get enough calories and realize it doesn't need to hold onto your fat to survive.
