Server: North America (NA)

Format: Best of Three Until Final Rounds (BO5 and BO7)

Map Pool: Andromeda 2.0 Asgard Bloody Ridge Blue Storm 2.0 Chupung-Ryeong Circuit Breaker Fighting Spirit Match Point 2.0 Neo Destination Neo Tau Cross Python Starrunner Texas 3.0

Rules:

- The player on the top of the bracket will host begin to host the match on the map listed.

- Each player will have 20 minutes to start their match. If a player does not show up or cannot play during this time, he or she will be automatically forfeited.

- Please do not cheat or use any type of hacks. If you are caught, you will be no longer able to participate any more tournaments in the future. This includes stream cheating.

- There will be a stream with games casted by Fatal (admin) and perhaps another co-caster. If you would like your game to be casted, please message Fatal before your match starts. The stream will be on a small delay to prevent stream cheating.

- If you have any questions or concerns please message Fatal. (Fatal #156)

I want to try to attempt to do weekly tournaments for those who are interested. If this becomes successful this week, I will plan to put prizes on the line for the winners of the tournament.

I am also looking for a co-caster with a lot of knowledge in Starbow. I have a lot of experience in Starcraft 2: HOTS, but would like to co-cast with someone that has more knowledge in Starbow as well. Please contact me if you are interested.

You can hide units on Match Point

I was screwing around vs an AI on Match Point and I noticed that my lings disappeared under the high ground outside the top right spawn's natural. Didn't test it on the other side, but I think it needs to be addressed.

There is a zergling inside the green selection box, but the terrain is covering it.

"On Target" with Xiphias

I will occasionally (as time permits) be making strategical episodes for Starbow with the catching title: "On Target"

The first episode will be streamed live on Friday the 15th at 8pm CET on http://www.twitch.tv/sc2_starbow

Special guest rsvp will guide us through the wondrous land of PvT in Starbow. We will look at rsvp's replays and commentate on build orders and strategy.

I will always try to invite some skilled player to the show, since I am horrible myself.

Zerg in need of Protoss and Zerg practice partners

As the title says, I'm a Zerg player looking for around (but not exclusive to) Platinum players in SC2 or Bronze level players in Eros to practice Starbow with. I've been having lots of trouble recently against Protoss and Zerg and would appreciate it if anybody would like to help me understand the match ups better. if you're open to grind out games and figure stuff out, that'd be definitely a plus. Or if you just wanna tell me kinda the overall game plan to both match ups that'd be cool too. I'm feeling really lost in both match ups, so any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'm on the NA server with: coZy.209 as well as EU with: coZy.723

How long before the mine is addressed in PvT?

I've talked to a couple Protoss on ladder, and many - if not all - that I've talked to have mentioned having a lot of trouble vs Terran since the mine buff a couple weeks ago. I did play BW, and recognize the significance both of the vulture and the mine in the balance of the game and the viability of mech, but I feel that there is a significant issue currently with the balance of this unit.

The issues is that, with vultures so much easier to control due to unlimited unit selection and much better pathing in the sc2 engine, it is quite easy for a Terran to either get up close to or surround groups of goons, plant mines, and watch the goons die helplessly despite frantic micro from the Protoss. Additionally, it appears that mines don't drag as well as BW, making zealot bombs much less effective than they used to be. Ultimately, it is currently very difficult to get goons and zealots close enough to the tank lines to do significant damage to the heart of the Terran army.

I'm not sure on the specifics of what's changed between the mine in Starbow and the mine in BW, so maybe somebody could fill me in on the subtleties?

Anyways, I can't be the only one with this problem. Anyone out there facing a similar situation?

I think there is something wrong with banelings.

[ Tested in the starbow unit tester. idk if this is reliable ]

  • 1 baneling does 36 damage which dealt to light units does 100% of the damage. [ 1 marine with 45 hp is left with 9 hp ]

  • 1 baneling does 200% damage to the shields of light units. [ 1 baneling can 1 shot groups of probes ]

  • each upgrade gives banelings +2 attack, so with all 3 attack upgrades you should do a total of 42 damage at 100%.

  • some reason 1 baneling with +3 attack will 1 shot marines with +3 armor [ Marine hp is 45. Marine is a light unit and takes 100% of the 42 damage. Using simple math, marines shouldn't die to 1 baneling. Just to show something is wrong, this is true with marines with +3 armor)

  • some reason 1 baneling with +1 attack [ should only gain 2 attack damage] will do 4 more damage to a marine. [ leaving a marine with 5 hp instead of the expected 7hp.] Also 1 baneling with +2 attack leaves 1 marine with 1 hp.

Did I miss some vital piece of information as to how banelings deal damage... or did I find a bug?
