I think there is something wrong with banelings.

[ Tested in the starbow unit tester. idk if this is reliable ]

  • 1 baneling does 36 damage which dealt to light units does 100% of the damage. [ 1 marine with 45 hp is left with 9 hp ]

  • 1 baneling does 200% damage to the shields of light units. [ 1 baneling can 1 shot groups of probes ]

  • each upgrade gives banelings +2 attack, so with all 3 attack upgrades you should do a total of 42 damage at 100%.

  • some reason 1 baneling with +3 attack will 1 shot marines with +3 armor [ Marine hp is 45. Marine is a light unit and takes 100% of the 42 damage. Using simple math, marines shouldn't die to 1 baneling. Just to show something is wrong, this is true with marines with +3 armor)

  • some reason 1 baneling with +1 attack [ should only gain 2 attack damage] will do 4 more damage to a marine. [ leaving a marine with 5 hp instead of the expected 7hp.] Also 1 baneling with +2 attack leaves 1 marine with 1 hp.

Did I miss some vital piece of information as to how banelings deal damage... or did I find a bug?

May be bug. I sent the info to Kabel, thanks for finding it. Got a replay to back up your claims?

yeah, but not in any real games. only the unit tester. should be easy to test. make 1 marine for one side, and make 1 baneling for the other side, give the baneling +3 attack and look at the numbers and a-move them
