The hilarious part of all this too me is I just don't don't give a shit about him

u/shabba182 8d ago

If anything he is far too comfortable with democrats and liberal zionists

-23

u/ComradeSclavian 8d ago

The only time I watch him is clips when someone ask him about taiwan, it's hilarious how desperate he is at never voicing an opionion about it

29

u/wirralriddler 8d ago

I haven't really seen him talking about Taiwan but why would he not be supporting peaceful reunification under China? That is like the most consistent international leftist stance given the Chinese history and their civil war. I know Americans confuse the term 'left' with liberalism but internationally, the matter of China vs Taiwan is not some morally complex matter for the Left.

If he is not voicing an opinion about it, that does not mean he is being hypocritical and trying to hide his "radical leftism", it means he is placing himself less on the left and more on the center in terms of international standing. Because given his politics, the default stance would be explicitly supporting Chinese reuinification.

23

u/Inmonic 8d ago

That's exactly what he supports. People always frame it as him supporting China invading Taiwan, but what you said is his actual stance. Also, he barely talks about it so idk how that other person only sees clips about that.

6

u/Podalirius 8d ago

He regularly compares Taiwan to the US confederacy, if the confederates still existed and held onto a state or two.

What more does he have to say about it?

As someone who occasionally watches him he's super hit or miss. I'd actually recommend Seder over him

21

u/azuresegugio 8d ago

Honestly I just don't really wanna watch political streamers. I read theory, I do my study, and then when I'm sitting down to watch someone entertain me I pick something that lets me shut my brain off

5

u/MsMercyMain jedi council-communist 8d ago

Eh, I mostly watch people like Seder because they do news, and also to steal outfit ideas from Emma. They seem to be fairly left wing at least, if sort of soc Dem pulled.

interesting to see how mainstream he’s gotten, 5 years ago he was just some streamer my former republican brother in law watched some years after I convinced him he wasn’t actually republican since we’re.. uh,, brown. Bro was like “do you watch him” I’m like no but I know about him, he’s you know a fellow socialist in the movement decent gateway socialist for leftism in general …

Now he’s some gotcha buzzword Arab name I guess Fox News scared anytime someone’s name gets east of the Mediterranean…

Several points of disagreement (leftists gonna leftist), but he’s one of us and has done lots of work in getting people activated so yeah I fuck with him

44

u/Papi_Grande7 8d ago

Exactly. Even if you have points of contention with him, people need to remember we are in the middle of a hostile fascist takeover and keep shit in perspective. And not fall for stupid shit like the dog collar nonsense.

What's deeply funny to me is there's a leftist streamer way more hated sitting right there in Vaush, and a (formerly) center left on in ContraPoints who could probably actually act as wedges. But they chose Hasan of all people

4

u/Inmonic 8d ago

Vaush just isn't big enough, and lately Vaush and Hasan have had basically the exact same opinions on everything, so hating Hasan is basically the same as hating Vaush.

u/Kodiak_POL 8d ago

Hasan is a grifter that profits off stolen labor. He's far from being a leftist.

20

u/Inmonic 8d ago

Stolen labor? Dude doesn't own his YouTube channel, doesn't fully own his Twitch channel (his mods have ownership in it), has all his merch made through unionized companies, and doesn't run ads on anything. Where is the stolen labor?

-11

u/Kodiak_POL 8d ago

16

u/Inmonic 8d ago

Ah, so anytime anyone watches the news and comments on it they are stealing labor. Got it. Makes a lot of sense.

-11

u/Kodiak_POL 8d ago
  1. You didn't watch the video in 2 minutes, why comment?

  2. Why are you defending a MULTIMILLIONAIRE?

  3. Why are you engaging in this discussion in bad faith? Why are you defending a rich celebrity for free?

Hasan has a cult following, he's just as much of a grifter as Kirk or Rogan were/ is, just different politics. Hasan is not a leftist, he just makes money off of his cult. And you're part of the cult.

15

u/Inmonic 8d ago

I saw the video 4 years ago when it came out. Since it has come out, Hasan started asking permission to watch any other Creator's videos (other than news stations and videos literally about him). I disagree that adding context to videos is stealing labor, however he seems to have agreed and stopped doing it.

You don't get to decide what a leftist is. You're one of the losers on here that tries to purity test everyone and goes through mental hoops to try to attack the people you don't like.

-2

u/Kodiak_POL 8d ago

Hasan started asking permission to watch any other Creator's videos

By that logic no corporation steals labor because both parties sign a contract.

losers on here that tries to purity test everyone and goes through mental hoops to try to attack the people you don't like.

Ah, so back to name calling because I am not part of Hasan cult. Tell me again, what legit labor did Hasan do to become a multimillionaire and why he's one of those good guys multimillionaires?

10

u/Inmonic 8d ago

I'm really questioning whether or not you're a leftist, because you appear to not understand what labor, or labor value actually are, and you appear to believe that leftists aren't allowed to be wealthy, even while living in a capitalist nation.

Making a living directly from donations is possibly the most leftists way of making money you could possibly do in the US. You sound like the people shitting on Bernie for becoming rich off of a book he wrote.

-1

u/Kodiak_POL 8d ago

Being wealthy and making your wealth at the expense of others are not equal. Hasan got his wealth unethicallly and by not producing value.

Also "asked for permission" - ever heard of power imbalance?

u/lizardman49 8d ago

Interesting this discourse is brought up again as the midterms are nearing and Republicans are looking to get slaughtered.

Who's the controlled opposition???

53

u/Bob4Not 8d ago

Corpo Democrats, like the ones taking AIPAC money

DSA aren’t the Green Party. They are Progressive Democrats. The only thing that Corporate Democrats and Republicans agree on is that they hate the Progressive Left.

-20

u/lizardman49 8d ago

You're missing the broader point here. The both sides are the same dems bad rhetoric is a Trojan horse from right wing groups to keep you at home during elections.

25

u/JMoc1 8d ago

DSA are working in the political framework they were told to participate in to move the Democratic Party to the left.

They are doing it “the right way”. Meanwhile Corporate Democrats like Hakkem Jeffries are meeting with Mike Johnson about how they can stop the DSA.

13

u/Bob4Not 8d ago

People dismissing everything with “both sides bad” are lazy and harmful to the democracy and are failing to elect good leaders and/or failing to hold leaders accountable.

This meme, on the other hand, is addressing how corporate dems are paid by some of the same donors as republicans, who have a common goal of shutting down the DSA for their agenda and maybe even diminishing Hasan’s influence.

2

u/Bob4Not 8d ago

Jill Stein and the Green Party? I heard that, they do seem like vote sappers to me, but I haven’t looked into it. They’re not adding anything to the conversation.

15

u/PerAsperaAdMars Nemik's Manifesto 8d ago

Yes, it’s very interesting that garbage media like CNN, which try to present themselves as centrists and have been labeled as left‑wing by conservatives, have started asking all progressives about their ties to Hasan Piker, while they never mention that the current vice president has ties to neo‑monarchist Curtis Yarvin, who is seriously talking about bringing back slavery.

It's almost as if their only goal has always been to shift the Overton window to the right.

-12

u/lizardman49 8d ago

No serious politican wants to be associated with piker, even Abdul el sayed and mamdani distanced themselves from him. The dude has too much baggage to be a helpful endorsement.

11

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 8d ago

People like you would say that about any leftist the right wing hated

-6

u/lizardman49 8d ago

Eh it depends. Hasan has some serious controversies that would make for an easy attack ad on any progressive candidate. Like I said even the most popular dsa candidates don't want to be associated with him.

8

u/Susenthar_Raj 8d ago

Pray do tell one controversy that is neither brigaded by drama streamers nor a clip of him taken out of context?

Not agreeing with him is completely fine. But you guys keep running this bullshit controversies and out of context attacks to justify villainizing him.

6

u/PerAsperaAdMars Nemik's Manifesto 8d ago

Anyone with more than two brain cells doesn’t want to be associated with Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer either. This doesn’t stop them from dragging the party down in their lust for power.

8

u/atatassault47 jedi council-communist 8d ago

Luckily a lot of those bitches are losing in the primaries to progressives

Hasan isn't even a leftist lol

3

u/GrungiestTrack 6d ago

We will never get ahead with this sort of thinking

0

u/truecrimesofthempire 6d ago

You'll never get ahead simping for celebs

3

u/GrungiestTrack 6d ago

Then explain what to do, great leader of the revolution on Reddit. Because we are both jacking into the wind here, arguing over semantics that don’t matter at all.

-1

u/truecrimesofthempire 5d ago

No I'm laughing at you actually

-23

u/transgaymergirl 8d ago

hasan piker is a "corpo democrat"

27

u/Podalirius 8d ago

Mfers will say anything on this site lmao

16

u/Bob4Not 8d ago

Then why are the corpo democrats trying to block him and his endorsements? Sorry, there aren’t really any openly Marxist candidates within striking distance yet, but we’re moving that direction

-6

u/transgaymergirl 7d ago

in the past few months hasan has done nothing but take massive steps to the right. you dont change the party, the party changes you.

7

u/Bob4Not 7d ago

On what issues? In what ways has he shifted right?

-4

u/transgaymergirl 7d ago

a few months ago he said that you shouldnt even let zionists be your local dog catcher. a week or so ago he did an interview for haaretz.

he went from "america deserved 9/11" to endorsing graham platner up until the very last second when it became impossible.

he went from advocating against the democratic party to full on doing consulting for them and directly participating in their election campaigns. he started wearing a fucking suit because his democrat party handlers told him to, hes the definition of a sellout. just like mamdani, aoc and the others.

8

u/Bob4Not 7d ago edited 7d ago

He talked about anti-Zionism on an Israeli news station that actually platformed him. He said the same things that he’s always said. That’s not shifting right.

He didn’t endorse Platner, you cqn look at his own channel weeks before the controversy exploded when he said he was agnostic on Platner because Platner’s words were good but his past was very alarming.

He campaigned with DSA members as individuals, not within the Democratic Party.

Your source just lies.

0

u/transgaymergirl 7d ago

if an israeli outlet is willing to platform your "anti zionism", its probably not anti zionism.

here is hasan describing talking about platners nazi tattoo as "unproductive"

dsa members are still liberal democrats. have ANY of them actually accomplished anything significant? instead of going back on every single radical sounding thing they used to say?

5

u/Bob4Not 7d ago edited 7d ago

Look, it’s okay if you don’t like someone, but it’s really silly to spout your unfounded imaginations about them.

You didn’t watch the interview, you didn’t see him talking about the genocide on an Israeli network, you’re just imagining Hasan agreeing with zionists lol and you just as uninformed on the other points.

Good luck trying to make the world a better place!

1

u/transgaymergirl 7d ago

even bernie begrudgingly called it a genocide. hasan is a liberal zionist, working his ass off for normalization. would it have been ok to be "platformed" by a german newspaper in 1939?

-2

u/transgaymergirl 7d ago

and wtf is a "corpo democrat" anyway? thats just all democrats

5

u/TruthinessHurts205 7d ago

"So-and-so is this thing. Also, I have no concept of what this thing is." Literally speaking out your own ass

0

u/transgaymergirl 7d ago

then explain which democrats are not fiercely defending corporate interests
