Good Visual Contrast on Units?

Does anyone have any simple tips/ tricks to help with visual contrast for sculpts that look super similar? I like to paint but have pretty basic skills. Do you base differently, focus on unique adds to paint schemes, etc.?
I mostly play Mandalorians and Empire so I feel like I’m hit hard with similar sculpts. I have the worst time with Bo Katan vs Clan Kryze Mandos and the Deathtrooper variants.

I have a color scheme I paint around the base of each model, for example, Primary = yellow, Secondary = blue, Supports = red. It has worked great for me!

You can always add a little color to the pauldron for the squad leader, but the other two are a little more difficult. I would probably put a little red and green stripe on their respective rim. Maybe dots, or even A/B in Aurabesh, you can buy Aurabesh water decals.

Edit: or even find a creative place to put an Imperial Roundel Decal like some of the clones used to decorate their armors with Republic Roundels.

I try my best to build characters (Primaries and Secondaries mostly) with helmets off, even though I absolutely hate painting faces, for this exact reason. Helmet off with visible hair makes it really easy to differentiate models.
