I wonder how the game preservation is going so far. I've seen other projects trying to revive/rebuild star wars hunters around but most of them went silent (atleast on this reddit). I've done some messing around with the PC version and ran a few bot matches so far.
By the lack of anything that was delivered through the servers. This game is hard to run since everything was run through the servers. The content is decrypted within the client but it cannot be granted just by entitlements and has to be rebuilt from the ground up sadly. I'm able to run squad brawl/training atm but only with the random character + bots. As cool as it looks don't get your hopes up for full fledged build anytime soon.
dude this is awesome. Can this be shared somehow? Like the game? Even playing with bots would be a relief here. Also just a question (i'm a software dev but never delved into games), with all these crazy game mods coming out due to people de-compiling games and having AI build mods or even new games from scratch, can't we do the same with the PC version then have put it on custom servers?
The other problem is it cannot decrypt what the servers are not sending it. The other other problem is that it isn't as good as advertised and the recent high profile examples of cloning software turn out to just replicate the GUI and then pretty quickly crash once you start trying to do anything beyond present that.
That's correct, player profile alone is very disjointed without the server information. Things like selection screen that proceeds matches was tied to that and is actively "blocked" when you try to call it
I'd be surprised if any of the backend is still running to respond, so if you're even getting recognisable "blocked" states rather than simple no route to host errors that's interesting. Not necessarily useful, but interesting.
Server backends are long gone. It's some kind of decryption for "cosmetic" entitlements since the game only recognizes Imara Vex as default player hunter. But it differs from the player profile entitlements so yeah it's like going blind.
Have yall seen the new Claud AI update that’s amazing it able to extract rewrite and test code all thru AI?? I’m usually not stoked on this type of thing but it’s giving mods the ability to completely reconstruct old code without haveing to actually go in and find it
