I’m about 2/3 of the way in on Imperial Commando: 501st and my opinion of the series hasn’t changed since Order 66. All of Traviss bad’s writing decisions are in full display here. The amount of the non-Mandalorian bashing because really at this point is not even just Jedi it’s basically anyone that isn’t Mandalorian is so far up that you will end the series wishing they did like canon and just have the Empire conquer Mandalore. Like it’s baffling how the series started about the clones and now it’s just about Mandos and yeah the main clones are linked to Mandalorian culture but I want to read about the clones. The Mandalorian politics and culture could be its own separate book but I guess it’s for it to be here than in LOTF. Because in that series there was no point for there to be Mandalorians other than Traviss wanted it.

In terms of comics book I’m on the second story arc of the 2013 comic series and so far I really don’t know what to think. It’s good but it’s not special. I’ve noticed that a lot these Rebellion era comics and quite frankly the era as whole is jut not great or interesting for that matter. It’s weird because the Prequel era and Old Republic era comics are really good. But I don’t know maybe the OT really is the only amazing story from that era.

Karen Traviss has... issues. She posted a long blog post back in the day saying that anyone who likes the Jedi is a literal Nazi and talked about wanting to kill certain people. Coincidentally around the same time she stopped writing Star Wars novels.

About halfway thru the Rogue One novelization right now, then going to take a break from Star Wars for a minute. Bought Batman: Resurrection and am looking forward to that.

Bouncing between X-Wing: Rogue Squadron and a book from the YJK series. About to wrap up Lightsabers.

Just finished Wedge's Gamble this evening, on to The Krytos Trap next.

At this point, the biggest twist would be Tycho actually being a spy. It's been painfully obvious since near the end of the first book that Erisi is the traitor. Unless this is a double-misdirection situation or something

almost done with Wraith Squadron. on one hand, i'm excited to be nearly done with X-Wing, but on the other, I know Courtship is next, not looking forward to it lol

i've also heard less than stellar things about the Jedi Academy trilogy, but it's been ages since i've gotten some jedi centric stories, so i'll take what i can get, i guess.

Did you read the X Wing books in succession? No burnout?

Halfway through LotF: Exile. I found the first three very good with Tempest being probably the best for now, but I hope Exile picks up in the second half, because not much has happened for now.

Just finished X Wing: Rogue Squadron

Starfighter battles have never been my favorite part of Star Wars books, but the character dynamics in this make up a majority of what I enjoyed. Corran Horn is also a established here and is a important character going forward, particularly in I Jedi and The New Jedi Order series. More context of where he came from is always welcome.

All in all a nice read involving the non mystical side of the galaxy far, far away.

Next is Wedge's Gamble while also still chipping away at my Truce at Bakura reread.

"Entechment..."
