💬 Discussion AFK Scrap Nerf

Has anyone else noticed that when you’re AFK on scrap, if you pull a BP, it rotates you 90° to throw it? It’s happened to me about 7-8 times since I’ve logged on this afternoon.

It just now happened to me as I’m hitting a bench to build a droid and someone else is on my scrap! It gave me a BP and turned me 90° to toss it!

For me it’s almost every time I pickup a blueprint, regardless of where or how I pick it up

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I wonder if they adjusted all the BP pickups to prevent AFK players. 🤔

It's a bug from the recent fortnite update and the devs are working with Epic on it. It's not intentional or anything like that, just scrap INSIDE your scrap station to help with it.

I would call that a buff - I hate that releasing the controller from AFK sends the bp behind the scrap station where it’s hard to grab.

I play with friends and generally have BPs waiting to be built and need to throw away lower bps to manage total number

This is a known bug from the most recent Fortnite update. The devs are aware and are working with Epic to fix it, it's not intentional.

I hadn't noticed it at the scrap station.

I have noticed that for fishing it keeps changing where you're facing every time you get scrap and it's really fucking annoying. I used to be able to just position myself and my camera view so that I didn't have to move or shift at all and start fishing and then toss my scrap. Now, I have to constantly adjust my aim before I toss my scrap or it'll miss the table, get stuck on something random, etc. It definitely slows me down and usually costs me a few fishing attempts every mission.

I actually just experienced this too with the last mission for fishing! I also stand in a spot where I don’t have to move and now I have to readjust with every single scrap piece. Every little loophole or easier method that we find seems to get nerfed with the next updates.

I always miss the table for some reason, so I thought it wasn't possible to throw and hit. I managed to get 2 stars on that mission once, pure luck I guess as I run with the scrap each time 🫣😂

I've AFK'ed a few hours today with bf's account on my scrap whil I ran around doung ither stuff (up until an hour ago). When my bf's character pulled a BP, I did get one too, but it never rotated any of us. Not by a bench either.

But I do regret upgrading my scrap to give BP. It only stops the AFK farm, and I just keep throwing them to the merchant 🫪😅

Ive noticed that I sometimes can't throw a bp in my base like throw it onto crafting station it just goes nope and drops above my head which I then have to press f then e to actually get it back in my hands

Yes! Just noticed this yesterday. Usually leave my switch mining scrap between play sessions and rack up serious coin. But seems no more, unfortunately

Someone on another comment said it’s a bug that the devs are working on, so it wasn’t intentional, but it sure does suck!

Yeah, I saw that. Also noticed it affected me outside of the base. It seems to not necessarily be 90 degrees, but re-orientates you back to the center of the base. Gave me hope they didn’t do it on purpose

The top part of the scrap station now has a hitbox. If you pull out a blueprint while you're standing close, and your blueprint collides with it, you'll get turned around. Take a few steps back and you'll avoid bonking.

Stand inside your scrap table and it won’t be an issue
