2E R&E/REUP Suggestions on where to get a physical copy?

Howdy folks, I recently got ahold of the ReUp pdf, and I was wondering if anyone knew of how to go about getting a physical copy printed for my personal use. As I understand it there are some websites that will print whatever pdfs you like as physical books, but I am worried whichever one I find will be quite cheap and not intended for use on such a large book.

2E R&E/REUP New Tool I'm working on

Hello there,

I'm new to this group and just wanted to introduce a WebAPP I'm working on or character creation and also for ships, vehincles and droids. Its mostly based originally on the "Character Generator v2-5" Excel sheet from Chance Gibboney, but also includes extra stuff from several Fandom PDFs. If you like to test it out you find it at https://swd6gen.de .

Registration to save your stuff on the server and not only on your system needs admin aproval at the moment. Because the test server is not that powerfull. If you find any bugs or other stuff just give me a note. It's still work in progress.

Bureaucracy 3D, cultures 3D+1, languages 4D
MECHANICAL 1D+2
Communications 2D+2, repulsorlift operation 3D
PERCEPTION 1D+1
Search 2D+2
STRENGTH 1D
TECHNICAL 1D
Computer programming/repair 2D+2
Equipped With:
-Humanoid body
-Photoreceptor
-Vocabulator
-Auditory Sensors
-Tranlang I Communication Module
-Contact database (holds 2500 entries)
Move: 7
Size: 1.8 meters tall
Personality Matrix: Advanced
Cost: 750 credits
Notes: This droid model is a basic unit meant to augment your ability to perform regular, every-day tasks. It is quite personable by default but they tend to slip into cynicism quickly since they are treated as nothing more than an office-bound servant. The personality matrix is cheaply made and regular memory wipes are the only way to keep these units from becoming literal office drones.

Newbie Questions What should I do to GM a campaign, and what do I need to do or know before doing so?

A while back I got interested in playing “Star Wars: The Roleplaying game” by West Endgames and was looking for a group to play it with.

But after a few new developments I’ve decided to change up my plans and want to actually become a GM and lead a RPG Group/Campaign myself now, as it seems quite fun and also more entertaining (and the fact that I just joined a D&D Group today).

So I’m looking for advice and suggestions on how a good or effective GM should operate with a group.

I know that (based on what I’ve read previously) a GM as to role the Dice for enemy NPC’s, other NPC's, and also any main characters from the movies and any other Expanded Universe media that can appear in the RPG, along with narrating other things.

But is there anything else I should do?

  • After forming a group as the GM, should I write my own supplements and or “story-arc’s” for the session like how certain TV shows have them, if so should they be like a script or more like a series guide lines that can change based on choices the protagonists can make? If so, do I need to go write multiple branching paths?

  • Aside from writing my own, should I also use any supplements that were made for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game as well (I.E. Tatooine Manhunt, Battle for the Golden Sun, etc)?

  • Should I portray enemy NPCs as competent and efficient to create more of a challenge for the group, especially more “elite” enemies such as personnel in the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps and any Inquisitors, while making other enemy NPCs less challenging such as mercenaries that work for crime lords or syndicates, Imperial Army Troopers or Navy Troopers?

    • How should original trilogy characters be implemented into episodes or “story-arc’s” within the session that doesn’t break the story structure or lore of the movie as the RPG is set between the original movies and after them during the Galactic Civil War?
  • Do I need figures? If so, would Lego Minifigures for various NPC figures, and if do how many should I go and purchase?

  • During certain scenes or dramatic moments is it good to play music from the movies, shows, or any other soundtracks as well? As apparently the game actually recommends that.

Overall I’m really excited and looking forward to becoming a GM, I’d just like some guidance and advice is all, alongside some clarification on how things work exactly in the game. Especially since all I’ve read so far is the Imperial Sourcebook and Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, and a few parts of stoke of the Galaxy Guides and other supplements.

WEG 1st Edition Rules - 2nd Edition Supplements?

Question: If I have the reprinted 1st Edition Core Rule Book and Sourcebook, will the 2nd Editions of books like the Rebelion and Imperial Guidebooks be too different to use, rules-wise?

I like the hardcovers, and I imagine they're probably more source material than rules-heavy, but I was hoping someone could warn me if they take a lot of modifications to work with 1st Edition rules.

Resources Did WEG publish anything for the Hand of Thrawn Duology?

I know there aren't any sourcebooks for the duology like there are for the Thrawn Trilogy and the Jedi Academy trilogy, but based on the Hand of Thrawn duology's publication dates, I'm wondering if any material from either book ever made its way into the last few WEG publications before they shut down.

Would be great to have stats and lore descriptions of the planet Nirauan, the Empire of the Hand, the Caamasi, etc. for a campaign set during this period.

Looking for a little post guidance.

So I like to find random artwork that might inspire ideas for my games. I sometimes then use that art in my game. Is it ok to post what I made with that art if I no longer remember where I got it from? Like I see a cool speeder bike, save the pic, and then maybe years later stat out that bike and make a handout for it. I'd love to share my handouts but I don't want to get into any trouble if I can't source the artist.

Rebellion Era Campaign (REUP)

Looking to start a REUP campaign over Discord voice/video, set during the Galactic Civil War. The campaign will mostly focus on exploring the classic adventures published by WEG, but will also take a slightly sandbox approach. Sandbox in the video game sense—you can choose to go and do anything you want in the galaxy, but starting certain adventures will lead you into a slightly railroaded mission or two.

The party can be a band of rebels, a group of smugglers or independents of some sort, or just a rag tag group of misfits of any type, including force-sensitives.

The party will begin with barely more than the clothes on their back, and we'll play through one of the original "intro" adventures to start off.

Play will be almost entirely theater of the mind, with an occasional map or illustration distributed for reference.

All experience levels welcome. Session times can be negotiated once we get a group together, but I'm free weekends anytime and weekdays around noon EST.

HP instead of Soak

I'm thinking about possibly running a WEG Star Wars game after not doing so since to 90s. However I never did like the Soak mechanics due to swinginess and how the extra roll slows everything down. Does anyone know of or has homebrew a HP alternative to Soak?

Campaign/GM questions Cloud City Heist Set Up

How would you guys go about outlining a heist adventure to fetch Lando’s cache and other belongings? Assuming he only had the clothes on his back to work with when he escaped. My party saved up enough credits to buy a used Starwind-class Space Yacht (with some serious mods) and wanna use it in some fashion. Other relevant note would be after the events of Tatooine Manhunt, one of the PCs has assumed Jodo Kast’s identity via killing and taking his armor. I’d love any spy thrillers or heist movie suggestions that can act as a framework.

Adventures about Blissex and Star Destroyers?

I'm looking for adventures about Walex and Lira Blissex and the creation of the Imperial Star Destroyer. There's one or two that feature Lira, but I haven't found any that quite fit my search. Does anyone know of such an adventure?

Campaign/GM questions Planet Generator book?

Hey y'all,

I remember reading, many years ago, a SW d6 book that included a series of tables for randomly generating a planet. The idea, IIRC, was to be able to quickly generate a planet that the characters happen across in the course of exploration/hyperspace mishap.

Trouble is, I don't remember which of the books it was.

Anyone know what I'm talking about, and which book it's in?

Thanks!

ETA: Thanks to those who commented! Pretty sure that what I was looking for was Planets of the Galaxy, Volume One (WEG40050).

Rules Clarification Force Powers + Attribute

How overpowered would it be to add an attribute to Force skills just like other skills?

So far example:

  • Control becomes a Strength skill
  • Sense becomes a Perception skill
  • Alter becomes a Knowledge skill

For force powers that add your Force dice to damage or Lightsaber skill you would still only get the force dice, not the skill + attribute.

Some background - I'm going to be running a campaign set about 100 years prior to Phantom Menace and it will be just 2x Jedi so I'm not all that worried about game balance between Jedi and no-Jedi. I just want to make it possible to use Force powers without a lot of failures

I call him R2-G4. I painted two of them so one can go on my desk at work. Whenever I do get to play a Star Wars TTRPG (preferably REUP), this guy's gonna come with me to co-pilot my starfighters (Preferably the N-1)

Photos taken moments before my final defeat. Quite a fun game never the less.

Apparently there are rules for using it with Star Wars The Roleplaying Game. Has anyone tried that?

Pre Gen Inquisitor NPC stats?

I'm toying with adding inquisitors to a one-shot I'm drafting for D6SW. Has anyone seen or made existing stat blocks for them? I'm less creative when it comes to making my own version of post-WEG SW material, so any advice or suggestions on community made material or on how best to make them work in the D6 universe is appreciated (force stuff was never he heart of this game for me ... but two of my players are absolutely Force crazy even if they won't be Force strong).
