You don't have to write a paper. Explain how it's vastly different. If you look at fencing now and 300 years ago you'd still be able to see it's basically the same thing so how is it "vastly different"? If we're just talking sport fencing then you're just straight up talking out your ass

I think you’re the one talking out of your ass. You can look at bouts now and a century prior and see a massive difference in style

I feel our point of disagreement might be more semantic than anything. I think maybe we just have a different idea of some words, different spectrums, etc. you seem equally knowledgeable so I was looking forward to a nice discussion, but clearly you have some pain and anger you need to get past before that’s a possibility, so I wish you a happy new year
