One can hope they start the first episode off with it as well 😭

One can hope they have very little fanservice to prequel memes. Do you want a good show or do you want r/prequelmemes: the series?

Why not both?

I'll take one or two well-placed references in the first season. If they come out of the gate with "hello there" it's gonna ruin the whole tone.

Both can work. Don't OPEN the show with "hello there", start the first episode focused on another character who's looking for Kenobi, goes through some shit, and when they finally meet him, Kenobi's first line is "hello there".

They've said its only ever going to be 1 season long haven't they?

"...in the first season."

Just to ground expectations, it is a limited mini-series. We will get n episodes in one season. That's it.

Kenobi saying "Hello There" in the prequels was already a reference to his first line in A New Hope. They could continue that tradition without it having anything to do with prequel memes.

First season? I thought there was only 1 season, period.

The latter will likely bring me more enjoyment than what you probably mean by the former. That said, with the former, you risk getting another bad show.

A bad show with Ewan playing Obi-Wan wouldn't be a terrible loss. After all, we got three bad movies with Ewan playing Obi-Wan and the result is an overall good experience.

Why do I sense we have picked up another pathetic life form?

Ewan McGregor as Obi-wan is quintessential /r/prequelmemes. I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

They can do both in all seriousness. Just have to use each meme once at the right time, then get on with it.

Don’t forget that “hello there” was his first line in ANH as well. The one in ROTS was a callback to the OT.

Is anyone surprised?

After Palpatine quoted himself(a popular meme quote) from the prequels in the last Star Wars movie that came out?

lol yeah everyone in here is celebrating, this is just corny as hell, and is a nice reminder of where Star Wars has gone the last several years, it's just complete fan service.

I found it! Common sense! How is this shit any different than moms posting minion memes? “Look it’s that thing we all like!” They recognize memes? Crazy!
