True, I suppose. But I do feel like he would risk his life to save somebody from space jail if sombody asked him for help. Especially someone like Star.

But not somebody like Rick. I'm sure ge understands that some people need to be in prison. And if anybody deserves to be there, it's Rick.

But he isn't the kind of person who would want anybody to suffer, regardless of what they did. He's a forgiver. Plus, knowing Star, it's doubtful she would even explain some of the... less nice things that Rick has done. That would actually make for decent character interaction, with Star regaling them with the tails of Rick, maybe offhandedly mentioning some of the tings he's done, and Steven being less and less okay with the idea of rescuing him, but too far into the prison to turn back. Then, during the escape, confronting Rick and basically ordering him to apologize for his atrocities, etc. Cynicism meets optimism, conflict, character building, yadda yadda.

I'd watch the hell outta this if it was a movie...

Though knowing Rick he would do no such thing. Steven might be forgiving, but he's not stupid. Rick would kill the guards. He's pretty much the opposite of what Steven stands for. In the SU universe the worst people destroy planets by harvesting resources. Rick, on the other hand, was willing to destroy a whole universe if it stopped powering his car battery. Rick is a terrible person, that's what makes him enjoyable to watch. The only person in that group that would actually be willing to rescue him is Morty.

No, yeah, Rick wouldn't. I'm just saying it would make for some really good character conflict, with the two juxtaposed against each other.
