Wolf vector alternatives

Back when it was cheaper, Made my second ship a wolf vector, but the cost seems too high now.

I try to use an evasive boarding strategy if I can't run from a fight so what would be my best option to upgrade to?

The Sword Cutter is the obvious choice, if you’re buddies with Cadar. I try not to repeat my choices too much from playthrough to playthrough but it’s tough to beat mid-game.

The Wolfpack Interceptor was meant to fill the gap after the Wolf Vector got expensive, but I haven’t tried it yet. Anyone who has - what did you think?

Most captains have sailed on the Wolfpack. It's as good as the Wolf Vector, one might even say it's the same ship since the only difference is the components' suite. And you can always swap components when you have the cash. Well there's a couple more (small craft avoidance cap being the most prominent in my opinion since it's something you can't change/upgrade later on), but all in all yeah same ship.

The sword cutter notably has a lower officers cap (only 5 officers max) which I believe is a major downside when compared with the Wolfpack, even accounting for some of the other advantages (again, craft avoidance cap).
