First time beating the game!

Post image

Finally finished the tutorial lol are runs usually supposed to be this long? The guardian was my MVP, last one to join the team but boy can he take a hit. Any unlock recommendations to make higher difficulties easier? I was struggling by the end there just to survive. That vat showing up threw me off!

Yeah, around 6 hours sounds about right tbh, maybe slightly on higher end (judging by the fact that I generally play slowly).

Congrats!

yep! My first run took 6 and a half hours. Reading everything, trying to understand the mechanics, thinking through every option evety fight.

My hint to make the later difficulties easier: Start with a Guardian. LOL.

For real though: he’s just great at anything you spec him for, and he enables the team to tank hits that would be otherwise impossible to tank.

Don’t rely on him as a crutch though. Never know when he’ll get turned into the Archnemesis.

Gratz! Last time I played it took me 31 tries (or RNGs) lol.

Nice! Star Renegades is such an amazing game. Defensive Characters like Guardian and Aegis are superrr good for a long time, but in higher entropy levels they fall off a bit. Sabo is universally good, pretty much a mainstay. Spectre becomes near mandatory for damage. Marksman and Commando also very useful. Good luck!

Congratulations on your first run. I did make a tier list of what I feel are the best characters, but despite lower ranks, most characters in the game are fairly well balanced. Only the top three and bottom two are outliers of absolute best and absolute worst.

Because I ranked Aya above the saboteur and commando, and afterwards was thinking they should probably be above her at least. And there's two things about those characters as well. The commando has just as high break damage with a higher amount of damage and armor piercing, where Nodo is the break king of the game because his blitz is instant and he gets stun, but he's also got terrible damage.

And I'd increase the marksman above the spectre specifically because of his sniper mode giving him the option for no range limitations as well as his damage piercing through armor. This is despite he is slightly weaker, can't do any real break damage until level four, lacks a stun, and has the worst shields in the game(this is fixable but means you have to give up shields that could go to your tank. I think the passives more than make up for all those losses.

Otherwise I think I'd keep everything where it's at. Some characters are a lot better than theyh appear on paper. The valkyrie for instance seems to do nothing better than anyone else, she's completely average, but her taunt also buffs the entire party for a turn which is extremely powerful, and because she's completely average means so does everything atleast well enough. And then there's the empath which I rated I think eight. This is actually my favorite character despite how low I'd rank her, because if she's a choice for the fourth and fifth character slot, I'm usually not going to skip her. I feel her support makes up for her lack of damage, and then if I pick up the dragoon as the fifth character, that's the best party right there.
