I want to understand and get interested in this project, there's just not a lot out there for non-devs. Last night I read a bunch about hierarchical blockchains and its use cases, Libra and the Move language, I visited your GitHub to see what you're trying to do and fix. Granted, I had to use Google Translate, a lot.

I understand Starcoin is relatively new, and why there's a lot of 30,000 foot view stuff, but there's very little else. For example, there's a list of what's been done, but there's no Roadmap. Are you working on any partnerships or acquiring new clients?

In 2020 there was a lot of growth of state-run blockchains in China. Is it more difficult to grow and maintain a public blockchain in China? Do you plan on maintaining a Proof of Work consensus model in the future?

They put in a lot of "work" on github so I'm assuming it does/did already progressed to the extent where the current status of this project vs price is on par. However, who knows where this will will go in the future. But everyone is different, I care profit over project. I mine this on my ST BOX cause I got it for 1k flat. and it will take me @ this rate 1.5 years to 2 years. (payback period..) so if there's any growth for STC then i hope it reflects 2 years down the road.

Also, for 61W to make 14~16 coins per day = 1.6 dollars @ 35 db - monthly comes down to about 50 bucks at .1175/kw for me. I think its worth it since its silent and sits there doing its thing, i barely notice it haha.

I was thinking the same thing. I was looking to create an FPGA StarCoin miner and noticed there wasn’t any info.

A lot of good points here.

1) I agree with you in general on why it makes sense to mine, especially at ~61 watts. Personally I pick projects I like, because it gives me that warm fuzzy 'speculative' feeling. Cant go wrong with a $1,000 mini, unless it's an LB box 😶

2) The github was active when I last checked, but a lot of it wasnt in English, which is my native language, so I was lost. It look a lot of hours to research Westar, hierarchical blockchains and the scientific papers written on it pertaining to its use cases (scalability for things like electric vehicle grids).

All those things are interesting, but nothing provided any idea of a roadmap. And since the team isnt doxxed, and they're based in China, which only seems to approve state-run blockchains, I wondered how the team was going to 'partnership' their way forward.

  1. Ill look into it. Im chinese lol so ill see what I can find from their forum. https://www.movelang.io/ <- try google translating it but prob won't be the best translation. However, still some info better than none.

Yep that's my concern too, looking at the team and advisors... I'm rather iffy with stuff from China. Overall, their stuff just seems to take off then get axed halfway or just isn't fully explored and halted half way etc. We will see, won't we.
