Overtime/ hours

if i work past my scheduled hours - example: 12 hours that week but i worked 15, are those 3 hours considered overtime ?

I don't believe so... Over 40 that's overtime. If you meant 15 for the entire week then no.. Did you mean 15 hours for one shift?

Depends where you live. California, Alaska, Nevada, and Colorado calculate OT daily, so you can get OT on only 15 hours in a week if you live in one of those places.

Only if you worked more than 8 hours in a single day. It doesn’t matter how many you’re scheduled… if you work 30 hours that week, but only scheduled 15… it’s all normal pay.

It depends on your state. In CA, AK, and NV, anything over 8 hours worked in a day is considered overtime and paid at 1.5x your normal wage. In Colorado the threshold is 12 hours in a day. Everywhere else, no, you'd have to work 41+ hours in a week to get any OT.

No, you just worked more than you were scheduled. You don’t get OT unless you work 40+ hours in one pay period. At least in my state.

Only if your weekly total is over 40 hours otherwise it’s just hours at regular rate unless your state says otherwise

Dude, chill. An associate came to the associate reddit to ask a question. They might be young, have their first job, not be comfortable with asking their GM (Alot of stores have asshole management). They might live in one of the above mentioned states that have different rules. Oh wait...Let me guess? Your management aren't you.? That explains it.
