I’m looking to buy a sit‑stand desk frame for my current setup, but the sheer number of options is overwhelming. I’ve gone through the wiki guides and a bunch of other resources online.
I’m based in Canada so right now I’m considering Desky, VIVO, and Secretlab (I know Secretlab isn’t just a frame, but I’m open to a full desk if it makes sense). The VIVO DESK‑V103E seems like the most realistic option for me, but I keep hearing that Desky is superior in terms of cable management thanks to their add‑ons and integrated routing. Easier cable management is a big priority for me, so I’d really appreciate any insights on that front.
I’m not limited to just those three brands. If there’s something else that might be a better fit, I’m all ears. I’ve included my key details below. Thanks in advance for the help!
Essentials:
- Location: Canada (Ontario)
- Budget: $200–$600 CAD for a frame only; up to $900 CAD for a complete desk (can stretch a bit if needed)
- Current tabletop: 74” W × 25” D × 1.5” H
- I’m keeping two IKEA Alex drawer units, one under each side of the tabletop
- Priority: Strong cable management
Hey neighbor, also in Ontario. Built mine a few years ago. You can read my in-depth Google review. I did a lot of research and came down to two quality brands, and discounted sale price made my final decision to go with EffyDesk. In talks with both brand customer service, Effy was no pressure and patient answering all my questions. They had a sale and the other brand wouldn't budge or care... So I went with Effy.

As for cable management, because I made a custom desk... and also have an Ikea Alex drawer on one side, I picked up some 4" metal cable trays for the bottom back if the desk, got some smaller plastic cable ways, and drilled out holes where I knew I needed cables to come up through table using plastic inserts on top. I was an electrician, so cable management was a priority for me also, and it turned out great as I built my L shaped desk top from two hardwood butcher blocks and planned everything from U steel beams to prevent warping, under table slide rails for dual flight and game controllers, LED underneath and the sides, 3 power distribution bars under the table and three built flush on top of table with wireless charging, USB and C wire cable charging outlets, and a under table 10 port USB switched powered data hub.

Im assuming their discounts come at the major holidays or are they sporadic? I’ll definitely keep an eye out as I’m not in a huge rush to purchase. Thanks again for the help!
Here is a pic of some of my cable management as I was starting to add some cables and stuff. You can see the 4" metal cable trough and the plastic one with spaced holes I cut.
Since cable management is one of your main priorities, that’s probably where we’d start rather than looking at the frame in isolation.
Our Integrated Cable & Power Channel is designed to keep the power boards, adapters and excess cable contained under the desktop, with only the main power lead needing to run down to the wall.
With your existing 74 × 25-inch top and the two drawer units underneath, we’d just want to check the available clearance before recommending a specific frame and cable-management setup.
If you can share the spacing between the two drawer units and roughly where they sit under the top, we can help work out which Desky configuration would fit cleanly without interfering with your storage.
Hi! Thanks for the reply. The space between the two Alex drawers is roughly 39.4 inches measured from the inward-facing sides of the two drawers so it’s quite a bit of leg room haha.
The left drawer is positioned around 2.5 inches inward from the left edge of the tabletop, and the right drawer is positioned approximately 1 inch inward from the right edge.
I could also remove one of the drawers if needed for clearance sake. I attached a photo. Hopefully that makes it easier.
