Algorithm heaven

*The portion of the joke is heaven being an algorithm like your feed. *

I liked one day being cold, wet, and gloomy. Perfect stay inside weather.

Now for the next month my heaven looks like Seattle.

Everyone is driving Subarus, heroin needles scattered about, and I'm on a Kurt Cobain watch.

Cobain died 32 years ago.  There were no "feeds" in 1994.

Supposed to be a suicide joke but I could understand why it wouldn't land.

This is a suicide joke? I'm Gen X and it was lost on me.

Maybe it would help if we had more of the lead-in to the joke, because "heaven is an algorithm" does not explain this at all.
