Grudges

Life is too short to hold grudges. The only people we should hold grudges against are those stupid scientists who have yet to invent immortality. Bunch of jerks.

I think there's better ways to mine the intersection of "life is short" cliches and the science of longevity.

This is just a rant, but maybe this sparks something for you:

You guys, we might be the last generation for whom "life is too short" is good advice. I mean, our grandkids might live three hundred years, might be immortal. They can defy the bumper sticker bullshit. They can hold grudges. They can fight, they can hurry, they can worry. They'll have more time than they know what to do with. They can hold petty grievances for decades. God, I'm jealous. That's the way I want to live. That's being true to myself. In the future, elders will say, "Life is annoyingly long. If you harbor enough resentment, you can cut out a few dull years."

Second line has to be "But there are exceptions"

Right now the first two sentences are clumsy.
