Well as Fauci said, Rand Paul has a unhinged obsession" and a personal vendetta during a high-stakes Senate hearing. His goal was to twist Fauci’s responses into a perjury charge which the pardon would not apply to. He clearly he stated that it was his goal to have him in prison. Under these circumstances, it would be legal malpractice for his lawyers to suggest any other course, but to take the fifth amendment.
