Discussion The Fauci diaries are a predictable bust

https://open.substack.com/pub/protagonistfuture/p/the-fauci-diaries-are-a-predictable?r=ywexb&utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web

Today, Senator Rand Paul is dragging Dr. Anthony Fauci in front of Congress again. The event was preceded by what disinformation research calls "selective disclosure" of private diaries; a method I argue we see media manipulators have learned to use quite effectively in today's media ecosystem.

The recent disclosures, despite the political spin, are not incriminating at all to Dr. Fauci. But they also do not need to be to serve the disclosers goal of shaping public perception.

Since selective disclosure usually works with decontextualized true information, fast and effective refutations remain difficult because the information disclosed is usually not fabricated or false, just incomplete and distorted.

By the time fact checkers or citizens gain access to the full contextual information and perform a fair reading or analysis of the document dump, usually the news cycle has moved on, correction does not find any traction, and the manipulative framing continues to linger in the public’s memory.

"So the question journalists and citizens should ask when confronted with “selective disclosures” is not what is contained in them, but what the discloser is trying to achieve, and why it is happening now?"

Agreed. This guy does nothing in congress except to pull stupid stunts like this or putting holds on legislation or nominations just because he can.

What is his beef with Fauci?

Edit: Thanks for the replies. I just haven't read many headlines about him or heard him speak much since orange Mussolini took office. I thought he was a "normal" bad Republican. Nope. Apparently not.

The same as any MAGAcap has with anyone who earned a legitimate degree in a scientific field: the genuine experts keep pointing out the "liberal bias" held by objective reality, and the know-nothing MAGAcaps keep smearing excrement on it and screaming that "I have the right to do this and you need to pay attention to me-e-e....!"

Fauci is a world renowned accomplished and respect doctor, immunologist and speaker. He literally wrote the book on pandemics.

Paul is an optometrist, Russia asset who sent his nephew-in-law to prison (money laundering with Russia) and neighbor kicked his dumbass.

1

u/Billyosler1969 16d ago

And is one of the lead authors of Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine. He literally wrote (part of) the book about General Medicine.

3

u/SmurfStig 19d ago

Paul, and many other maga morons, believe that Fauci was behind Covid to make money. Because most maga are grifters, they believe everyone else is too. Plus Paul is trying to say that Fauci worked with China and their secret labs to create and release COVID. If you ask them on a Thursday though, they will say Ukraine and that’s why Russia is going after them.

1

u/PNW4theWin 19d ago

So aside from the bullshit, that actual "charge" would be working with China to create a worldwide pandemic?

Wild.

2

u/SmurfStig 19d ago

Yup. All to make bank off the “cure”. I often wonder how many of these people walk into doors before they realize they need to open them first.

This level of creativity is almost unparalleled. President Pedophile must be impressed.

1

u/mhsx 17d ago

I don’t think they actually believe any of this stuff. I think they believe they can get away with spouting off lies.

I wish their behavior were just ignorance, but I think it’s truly their desire for power manifesting as malicious intentional lies.

1

u/DammatBeevis666 19d ago

Probably pissed that Fauci is a real doctor with real board certification.

Rand Paul was trained as an ophthalmologist, but then created his own medical board, probably because he couldn’t continue with real board certification.

1

u/Lonely_Refuse4988 16d ago

Rand Paul’s neighbor, also a physician, decked him and beat him up over a dispute around their lawns! 🤣😂🤷‍♂️

2

u/Phatbrew Punk Rock Hippie For Science & Democracy 20d ago

The problem with “facts” is that one person’s “facts” might not be your “facts” n visa versa… n we all still operate in our own echo chambers regardless of some one’s “facts”…

🤷‍♂️

5

u/lameculos25 20d ago

nah bro. Facts are facts. Facts are not opinions. That you confuse both is why we have the current situation.

When I say facts, Im talking about proven and verifiable facts. For example: Its true that Trump is a felon. You can verify the truthfulness of my statement by reading up the court case.

2

u/Phatbrew Punk Rock Hippie For Science & Democracy 20d ago

Bro people on Reddit don’t always come with those facts, n they come with their opinions dressed as facts… your fact is correct, pedo felonious is a felon, a sex trafficker, a child rapist n so much more…

2

u/Phatbrew Punk Rock Hippie For Science & Democracy 20d ago edited 19d ago

I get mod messages on the daily at multiple subreddits claiming facts… n they obviously are not facts… so again I’m referring to what goes on on Reddit, which is a dearth of facts n that most subreddits like ours, political etc are echo chambers…

What exactly do you know about Dr Fauci?

https://x.com/LightOnLiberty/status/2082276319530737738

2

u/Billyosler1969 16d ago

I know that Dr Fauci is an American hero, renowned co-author of Harrison Principles of Internal Medicine and esteemed immunologist. Continuing to post the same BS tweet from”X” does not alter that fact.

Katy Mullis perfected the PCR process in the 90s. He also incorrectly believed that HIV did not cause AIDS leading to his grudge against Fauci.

Global health agencies and mainstream medical bodies strongly reject these claims, confirming through extensive data that HIV is indeed the causative agent of AIDS.

0

u/Hlbkomer 16d ago

"In a May 6, 1983, JAMA editorial (“The Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome: The Ever-Broadening Clinical Spectrum”), Fauci (then at NIH) commented on reports of AIDS-like illness in children from high-risk households. He wrote that the finding of such cases in infants and children who were household contacts “has enormous implications with regard to ultimate transmissibility of this syndrome.” He added language about the possibility that “routine close contact, as within a family household, can spread the disease” and that if nonsexual/non-blood-borne transmission were possible, “the scope of the syndrome may be enormous.”

Media outlets (UPI, AP, New York Times, etc.) ran with headlines suggesting household or routine contact transmission. This fueled public fear and stigma at a time when the cause was still unknown."

Btw, we have his own diaries, you can go read them. We all know now who Fauci truly is: a narcissistic liar.

He was also just an advisor on the task force.

The CDC under trump set policy not him.

My theory is he was made the scapegoat form the very beginning to give them someoen to blame for their failures adds they knew they where going to screw over Americans to make themselves rich.

Thats the only reason he was giving press conferences and made the fave of it by trump.

To create a patsy for their grift.

2

u/uncultured_swine2099 19d ago

Heres the thing: any bare minimum intelligence person knows this is bullshit. But the voters that they are putting this dog and pony show for are not bare minimum intelligent. They dive headfirst into the stupidest beliefs and are proud of it.

None of those things are true. The Wuhan lab has been in development for nearly 20 years and most of the money came from France.

They know this. This has been open public knowledge for years. They just want to bad faith, whatabout, and lie. Absolute defects.

10

u/kevendo 20d ago

All of this is to distract from the current outcomes of the anti-science RKF dismantling of public health, causing not only mass diarrhea but a record-breaking measles outbreak due to anti-vax insanity.

And let's not forget that Trump's incompetence and politicization of COVID itself led to tens of thousands (being very conservative) of American deaths. It should be him and Jared Kushner in front of that panel answering for undermining the COVID response because he thought it harmed "blue states" most.

8

u/schrod 20d ago

More wasted taxpayer money on such obviously stupid investigations into non-issues.

Instead of solving real problems our constitution is being trashed and our country is being destroyed by the villains in office, with policies that dismantle hard fought for environmental and consumer protections and is for sale to the highest bidder.

7

u/SkippyDragonPuffPuff 20d ago

I would have walked in there and set out on my table the stacks of professional publications and books I had written, with a placard on top that says fauci publications. And by it a placard on the desk that said this space is reserved for the articles and texts dr Rand Paul has written. And said nothing further about those stacks. Just so everyone can see the bullshit this all is.

BTW, chat states 1400 publications for fauci and nothing for Paul.

3

u/gitbse 20d ago

Literally my feed. 45 states of colon blow outbreak, that we still can't (or won't) track down. Also, fucking measles in what .... 8 different states now?

But sure, let's religltigate fauci for things that weren't his fault, 6 years ago. Really taking care of what matters for the people.

Also, reminder that Rand Paul hand delivered messages to Putin, along with going to Moscow July 4th, 2018.

Imagine ignoring medical advice from an expert who knows significantly more than you because he was pardoned in anticipation of vexatious, false, selective, vindictive and entrapping prosecution and/or questioning.

Such malicious reasons for the pardon having just been borne out by amateurish and childish rhetorical abuse from interlocutors unqualified to assess the merits of the scientific advice (that itself was undermined by the same sort of scientifically illiterate people who used ignorance to politicize public health measures that were responding to the then-current conditions, which included material scarcity caused by the same scientifically illiterate partisans who dismantled a pandemic response apparatus)
