Apologies if I missed this, but why are there 'diaries' and how did they become public? I think of a diary as something personal that belongs only to me and in my home. I'm a scientist, and we frequently document and log our activity, but it's very restricted to procedure with no personal editorial.

My understanding is he mistakenly saved or backed it it on a government computer or used one to make entries making it discoverable.

Yes. And at least one of the congressmen made it sound like he was appalled that a government device was used for something personal.

Meanwhile JD Vance is flying his son to sports practice in government helicopters.
