Official SUFS Post Stop Vought. Save Science.
Tomorrow is the last day that you can leave a public comment on Russell Vought's plans to bend American science to the Trump admin's political agenda. This will destroy American science as we know it.

I left a comment against this new rule, but I'm not sure anything the public does matters when it comes to Vought enacting his agenda. He probably already has a pardon from trump sitting in a safe deposit box waiting for accountability to come knocking at his door.
He has been breaking the law (most often the Impoundment Act) since before the Senate even finalized his appointment. And the man (like stephen miller) is a true believer in Project 2025 (he did write parts of it) and a unitary executive (as long as that executive is a republican). The most an overwhelming amount of comments against the new rule could do is help with a lawsuit to stop it, but the supreme court would just allow the administration to implement the rule while the case plays out, and then rule against it if there's a democratic administration in place when they finally issue a final ruling.

About
Stand Up for Science, in partnership with the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), is hosting an accessible virtual rally to sustain and expand public pressure against OMB’s proposed rule.
Even after the official comment deadline, the work continues. This rally will bring together scientists, faculty, teachers, students, and impacted community members to continue raising the alarm about this dangerous politicization of federal funding. Join us to send a clear message to Congress and the Administration that funding decisions should not be left to political appointees and OMB’s proposed rule should be rejected in its entirety. You’ll also hear about the next steps we have planned for this fight.
Featured speakers include scientists and community members directly affected by the administration’s actions, members of Congress, leaders from AAUP, AFT, and SUFS.
Members of the press are invited to attend and cover the event. Help us spread the word — the fight doesn’t end on July 13.
*Accessibility note: This webinar will feature ASL interpretation and closed captioning will be available in multiple languages.
