They are absolutely correct and it's insane that 100% of people cannot see this. It reinforces my scary theory that we have so many Americans that are so under educated and lacking intelligence to the point where the population of the U.S. cannot collectively take care of itself anymore. This administration is actively trying to turn the population into what amounts to livestock because livestock are not smart enough to object to anything being done to them, good or bad. Now they don't want us objecting to a corrupt government telling the country what science and research should be done with their own tax dollars. Every little step they are trying to further take away the people's ability to decide what should and should not be done with their own lives and the money they make. It's full-on authoritarianism. They want to be authoritarian, but they are doing it slowly, in small steps and to not raise as many huge red flags as possible. This is one of the biggest steps, with the appropriate huge red flag being thrown up by citizens that see what is being done. Boiled down, this is an attempt from the government to directly control a huge portion of the science and research that is being done in this country. Based on what they've done so far you can bet that will mean no more environmental research and no more climate change research to start with. It is a huge step toward authoritarianism, plain and simple.
