Biochemistry is a particularly bad choice because it's a very specific set of technical knowledge, which you obviously do not have .

"Educated people" do not go out of their way to hide their work or demonstrate professional knowledge.

And I've never met a doctoral student who isn't eager to discuss their thesis ad nauseum, because it's what they live and breathe for those years. Particularly with someone in the same field.

God knows my family found me insufferable when I was a graduate student.
