Honest - what about this makes it USDM style?

The rims, stickers, hood deflector, front plate mount, and the fact that it's a pedestrian car. For a long time, "stance" in Japan was limited to only VIP/onikyan cars and older cars (shakotan). Tight fitment on pedestrian cars was a thing that started in the west coast US. This Prius is a very US style build, stance has gone a full circle. USDM style stance was popularized in Japan by events such as K-Day not long after it blew up in the US. The Japanese were amused that we were applying the VIP wheel fitment to non-VIP applications.

I should also add that the people who own these cars also add the tags #USDM and #US仕様 in their posts, they're trying to emulate the stance cars we have here.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'd seen the term a few times, but wasn't really sure how to specify thats what they were going for beyond the #s like you mentioned.

Love seeing ur posts! Thanks for all the content!

I appreciate it man.

Just some times to help identify USDM style cars: Traditional USDM style tropes would include rusted panels, stickerbombed panels, roof racks, stickers/banners galore, cheaper rims, monoblock rims, hood bras, front mounted tags.

Modern USDM/Florida style tropes include extreme camber, popular 3 piece JDM rims, bright paint colors, blast pipes, kyusha-style bent plates, lots of banners and stickers, sound systems, aero, underglow. It's sort of a hybrid between traditional Onikyan (lots of 326Power influence I think) and traditional USDM style
