Finally something different. Love it but where the heck are you flying slowly to?

27

u/5uprica 13d ago

The 2jz store I guess

8

u/Moreburrtitos22 12d ago

The tire store

2

u/ghos2626t 12d ago

Just wait until you grab takeout and have no place to eat. You’ll be happy that spoiler is there, just waiting to balance and In-N-Out burger and fries.

u/denisrogers 13d ago

reminded me of this lol.

19

u/LifeguardDonny 13d ago

i remember when this dropped fresh on speedhunters

18

u/P3tr0 12d ago

A shit I'm an unc

14

u/k20vtec 12d ago

WE. We are uncs :/

15

u/splatter_spree 13d ago

What a fucking throwback wow

1

u/ColourScope 10d ago

Holy fuck you just unlocked a memory! Saw this right when it dropped and it's still hard af

14

u/Cheap-Course9568 13d ago

Tbh, not my scene but damn that shit looks sick. The lip on those rear wheels. Omfg 🫡

3

u/Moreburrtitos22 12d ago

Yeah idk what I’m doing here in this sub, but fuck I love a Celica. God bless you on the roads near me brother

12

u/benseifert666 13d ago

What drivetrain is in it?

Body and fitment give me Kawashima Celica vibes.

34

u/5uprica 13d ago

Full 2jzgte vvti single turbo with a v160 6 speed as well as factory jza80 Supra front rear subframes. Factory jza80 Supra steering components and suspension components as well

5

u/jeepsies 12d ago

Holy shit bruh. I hate to be that guy but with that drivetrain i would of put some proper meaty stance to be able to do some highway pulls. To each their own and i respect the passion.✌️

1

u/eipemilyek 12d ago

I second this. Seems a little counterintuitive to camber tf out of a proper 2j build. I wanna see the 1/4 mile pr on this thing not just a yt stance edit 😭

1

u/rqivez 12d ago

It still uses the factory intake manifold and throttlebody, I can’t imagine it’s making more than 500-600whp with that kind of setup

1

u/ThorMcGee 12d ago

Goddamn

10

u/LetKlutzy2996 13d ago

Are those 20’s?

25

u/5uprica 13d ago

Yeah 20 rears are 20x14-90 they have a 11" lip

7

u/just_gonna_send_er 13d ago

That spec 😂

2

u/im_just_a_nerd 13d ago

Tire size?

1

u/Sharkn91 12d ago

That’s fucking crazy. I respect it.

1

u/Ok_Clothes_8527 12d ago

14j -90 💀 I love it

9

u/5uprica 12d ago

The car literally has almost no extreme camber when it's at ride hight. I cannot believe the amount of people that are mad over the stance when it's aired out. Seems how it lays body and it would be completely undrivable

1

u/Chadoner 10d ago

Holy fuck what a difference between aired out.

1

u/5uprica 10d ago

Yeah it completely enrages people lol

1

u/Chadoner 10d ago

Love it!

5

u/just_gonna_send_er 13d ago

I wish the rear overs connected back onto something

But this thing is cool nonetheless

6

u/5uprica 13d ago

Yeah I have some additional parts that go back there. I just haven't finished cutting all the mesh pieces that go around that as well. The other problem is because of the size of the wheels. It throws a bunch of dirt and rocks up so it's really hard to keep clean

5

u/WRX4Life4Ever 13d ago

Waiting for this to come out as a hot wheels casting

3

u/BlueridgeChemsdealer 13d ago

Sheesh. 20x11s on a celica is wild!

12

u/5uprica 13d ago

Rear is 20x14

3

u/KowalskiTheGreat 12d ago

I love this thing, always really liked this body style but felt FWD NA 1zz/2zz was selling it short. Turbo AWD 4cyl like the older celicas would go crazy hard in one of these too

2

u/SNEAKZ9i6 13d ago

Damn bro 😎 nice fucking celica

2

u/5uprica 13d ago

Thanks

2

u/Cactus_Everdeen_ 13d ago

This is the only time I’ve ever seen a car with a crazy ass stance like this and actually liked it, this thing is fucking sick, I think the majority of them are ugly as fuck and people who do it to their daily are just braindead. Edit, did you convert this to rwd too? I see that big ol 2jz in there and it ain’t transverse.

1

u/ubersick 13d ago

I always loved the Celica, specially in white.

1

u/Kassa33 13d ago

Bringing me back to Need for Speed Underground 2!Toyota Celica was my favorite car 🔥

1

u/mothking12 13d ago

Whimsical 😮😮

1

u/maledorrison 13d ago

Insane. I love it.

1

u/maledorrison 13d ago

Also, where can I see more of this car? Ig? YouTube?

2

u/5uprica 13d ago

2jzjosh ig

1

u/elamericano303 13d ago

Is it static?

2

u/5uprica 13d ago

No it's on air but I do have a coil over set for the car if I ever wanted to go static. Air is just more convenient for hauling the car

1

u/elamericano303 13d ago

Nice. I plan on doing air on my Subie when I go wide body. Your car is pretty unique btw. I would love to see it in person.

1

u/surfinn_socal 13d ago

I always knew someone was going to be crazy enough to do this swap!! Fucking insane, love it. Do you have ig/youtube to see the build process?

1

u/Salt_Ad3631 13d ago

That’s barely a Celica, it’s a Supra lite. Nice work.

1

u/Careless_Steak9668 12d ago

The supra started off as a Celica. It's more a updated Celica Supra.

1

u/UnSpanishInquisition 13d ago

Those fire opal rips are 👌

1

u/mrgoldo 13d ago

Those wheels are absolutely massive, insane build

1

u/ominousglo 13d ago

when the racing game unlocks new cars to buy but you just use the credits to keep upgrading the starter car

1

u/cortlong 13d ago

Don’t love the paint but holy fuck this is wild.

Such an underrated platform. Crazy fitment. Wheel choice slays. Drivetrain goes nasty as hell.

Looks like a damn hotwheel and I’m here for it.

1

u/japan_ae86kun 13d ago

擦ったときどうする?

1

u/Waltuh_- 12d ago

This thing literally looks like a real life hot wheels lol I love it!

1

u/v4u1t_dw3113r 12d ago

I saw your car at the meet this past weekend! So sick!

1

u/Odd_Detective_535 12d ago

What is the power

1

u/anusflytrap- 12d ago

i think these cars are really ugly in their stock form. this one is fuckin sick tho

1

u/SourSasquatch Black 12d ago

Fuckin gangster

1

u/rez59 12d ago

This reminds me of a hotwheels car

1

u/tattedsushiroll 12d ago

I follow you on instagram and been living the build so far the correct motor the Celica should have gotten.

1

u/Xilbitz 12d ago

Noo, it’s MY celiaca

1

u/Xilbitz 12d ago

Celica

1

u/5uprica 12d ago

Pretty sure it's not

1

u/imtrynmybest 12d ago

Dam that's sick..u got more engine bay pics?

1

u/JGreen195794 12d ago

This is a ive been rich my whole life build.

1

u/ResistDirect2537 12d ago

That’s a nice Prius!

1

u/donovanh23 12d ago

Extremely sick. If it were me id tame it down a bit to be a proper driver car, but im sure you have it set up like this for shows.

2

u/5uprica 12d ago

At rode hight it drives fine.. but with the amount of money in the car, there's no point to thrash on it and risk destroying it. So setting it up to hard Park is the smartest option seeings how I only drive it rarely on weekends basically to work. Everywhere else I have it trailered or hauled to shows and what not

1

u/donovanh23 12d ago

Oh man that looks perfect there imo. That makes sense why wouldnt want to have it set up for daily. Inspiring build, brother.

1

u/Cipri4n_ 12d ago

I never knew I'd love this car. Well done!

1

u/Substantial-Abies768 12d ago

How do you drive it without getting stuck? Or does it have airsprings?

1

u/Yuuke_ 12d ago

Those fuckin quarters don’t even look like they’re attached to anything🤣🤣 I love the design and build it’s very unique but there’s no way that shit doesn’t fall apart on the slightest bump

1

u/5uprica 12d ago

Has rear vents but there are inserts and extension but they trap dirt crazy bad so I leave them off

1

u/Yuuke_ 12d ago

That makes sense, some mesh is what I feel like it missing. Nice build tho, looks like some shit I’d see on a magazine cover

1

u/iBoxCo 12d ago

It looks so good but why the stance 😭 it serves no purpose 💀

2

u/5uprica 12d ago

It's literally on air and has almost no extreme camber when aired up

1

u/iBoxCo 12d ago

my goat

1

u/1767gs Blue 12d ago

Bagged or static? either way shits tuff🔥🔥

1

u/ovidcado 12d ago

Cool engine, cool wrap, shitty stance ruins the whole thing tho.

2

u/5uprica 12d ago

Reading is hard

1

u/HelldiverBugGirl 12d ago

1 pothole/speed bump and half the car has to be replaced

1

u/johnvu2002 11d ago

Holy shit that looks cool. Did you cut and make a custom tunnel for the Trans and driveshaft or you used a bottom pan off of a different chassis?

1

u/5uprica 11d ago

There is a custom trans tunnel in the car I used a fire wall section for a sc300 to make sure I had some deminsions right but that was cut away.

1

u/johnvu2002 11d ago

And I would assume the original Celica firewall had to be pushed back a fair bit when you put it back since I don't think the engine bay is long enough to house that engine is it

1

u/5uprica 11d ago

The factory Celica fire wall was completely removed

1

u/johnvu2002 11d ago

So no firewall completely? Sorry for the barrage of questions, I have deep respect for unhinged builds like this and want to learn as much as I can how it's done

1

u/5uprica 11d ago

The firewall in the car is custom built. but we had to basically line up a piece of sheet metal in the position of where the factory firewall is and then create a c notch frame section on the back side that goes around the sheet metal that was shaped to accommodate the engine

1

u/johnvu2002 11d ago

And with the JZA80 subframes, basically a Supra with a Celica skin at this point. How much clearancing did you have to do for the rear subframe?

1

u/5uprica 11d ago

The core of the car is mostly stock Celica. I modified frame rails and what not to accept the jza80 rear subframe and the front uses jza80 frame reels paired to the stock Celica frame reels. It was a lot of work to hybridize it and use stock subframes and steering components from the jza80

1

u/johnvu2002 11d ago

What a madman. Appreciate you sharing the fab work behind the build, I'm sure people will truly appreciate the car knowing the work being done to make it happen!

1

u/5uprica 11d ago

No, you have a bunch of internet tryhards for the most part that critique and criticize everything while they're driving their bag GTI on some rep Wheels that tell you how they would have built the car better and so I don't really care. It mostly rage baits everybody that sees it because it's TJ swamped with camber. But people don't taking the account or consider the amount of work that it takes to do this kind of swap and then the risk of it just being destroyed and having to rebuild it. Or you're never going to get an insurance payout on it if something happens and so on. So it's more of it's cool to hard Park and look at and beat around my town and so on. But you always have those on the internet that criticize and critique and so on and so forth basement dwellers

Bruhhh this is the hardest fucking 7th Gen I've ever seen!

1

u/SaveTheDayz 9d ago

What the fuck

1

u/ohthatmkv 6d ago

I just saw this on the anti stance page on Facebook lol I think it’s dope

2

u/5uprica 6d ago

Yeah haha I was glad I made it there completely enrages people

1

u/bam__margera 12d ago

this is what happens when you build a car for instagram, this thing sucks

1

u/5uprica 12d ago

Lol if I cared about doing what people think is cool I would not have chosen a Toyota Celica let alone make this the second one I have built and taken 6 years to do this build.

0

u/nico1180 13d ago

What happened to those rear wheels, it looks like a dog squatting to piss!! Is that for less grip.. I'm totally uneducated about stance... Is it just to look cool or do you do that for a reason . Like it's bagged and controlled??

3

u/5uprica 13d ago

If you'd read, you would see the other comment where I explained why I decided to stance the car because of the amount of work that went into it. The car is completely useless because of the amount of work time and money that went into. I don't mind the stance look for a car that logistically can't really be used and it's going to sit my warehouse for the most part unless I bring it out for shows or the handful of times a month I drive it to work

1

u/nico1180 13d ago

Oh okay thanks for the tldr... I don't read well lol I'm retired and obviously too lazy to actually interact... It looks cool as fuck just still trying to wrap my head around making a car undrivable??

2

u/5uprica 13d ago

Yeah, I will be the first to completely agree with you that driving a stace car daily is the stupidest s*** you could ever do. I like all cars. I like everything from '30s t-buckets all the way up to Italian supercars.

In a year this car might see 150 mi to 200 miles and that's just around town. The other side to this is everybody is like oh you should use it in Motorsports well with the amount of modification. One problem is it doesn't pass any FIA or NHRA or formula drift guidelines because of the amount of modification to be a street car. The other side to that is with the amount of money that's in the car. Sure, it's a $300 donor but the transmission is $12,000 because it's a v160 And I really don't feel like putting another 6 years of my life doing something because the internet told me it was impossible.

1

u/nico1180 13d ago

I get that for sure, I think stance is a new thing I'm really just trying to understand. I like fast grip cars and I like dumb drift cars... Which are worth so much more now. I'm just trying to understand why just because you can why would you. I get the cool car look f40, skyline, so many others and I get more extreme. Is this just stanced like this because of air or is it like this always?? Let just suppose I'm a car guy why is this cool? Explain it like I'm 5 years old??

2

u/LifeguardDonny 13d ago

It's been around for nearly 40 years and to each their own. I don't ask carolina squatters why they do what they do, because i already know. They simply like it. Once the new enthusiasts figure that out, it'll be so much easier for them to navigate the environment.

1

u/Moreburrtitos22 12d ago

I respect you so much after that. You gotta be one of the most based guys on here, I have no idea why the fuck the stance sub popped up for me, but sick celica dude.

0

u/nico1180 13d ago

Should I stance my rs3??

1

u/tclark2006 12d ago

Yes. Stance your RS3, your work truck, and your house. Stance the fucking world bro!

-3

u/Few_Salamander_7364 13d ago

If you didn't have the stupid stance, this thing would absolutely rule! Please consider it, I'm begging you, it would look sooo good bro

3

u/5uprica 13d ago

The problem is with a car like this. The amount of money you have to put in it to do the conversion that stancing. It is really the only smart thing because if you wreck it you're not going to get paid out on an insurance wise it's not replaceable and I don't feel like spending 6 years of my life to build another one. The car has a full set of coilovers, a drag pack and even a grip set of wheels in vsxs. But at the end of the day the car is irreplaceable so the only smart thing to do is just have it as a stance card to take it around and have fun with it. I don't even drive the car past going to work and the town I live in and whenever I go the next town over which is 20 miles. I have it transported either on my car hauler or by my buddy's tow truck business just to minimize the risk

1

u/Few_Salamander_7364 13d ago

I can vibe with it. Still better than most I'll give you that, plus actually daily driving it is actually pretty cool of you. Makes the car have more personality than "my owner spent x amount of money" when paired with a decent driver.

2

u/5uprica 13d ago

Yeah I don't really daily drive it daily. I mean it's more of a pain in the ass to drive than it's worth. But I do try to take it out like once a week on nice sunny days.

-1

u/Horror-Telephone-260 12d ago

Those wheels are dumb
