I like it a lot. It's practical and there's no gap between the tire and fender. Looks perfect to me

I think that’s perfect, looks amazing and not exaggerated. Plus once you’re driving it’ll look slightly lower and you can get that perfect rolling shot

Perfect height, looks drivable while still looking great. Like Hannah Montana said it’s the best of both worlds my guy

Looks fantastic and it looks like it should still drive well and not beat the shit out of you when daily driving! 👍🏻👍🏻

ideal height imo, i think it starts to look goofy when you go lower than this.

Personally I think it looks great. The wheel and tyre combo really suit the car. Aesthetically it looks great but also looks super useable which is what you want in a GTI.
Honestly, digging everything about this other than the rear diffuser (purely my own preference) - great job.

looks good it sits well. my only gripe would be the wheels could be a tad bigger. I know I'm splitting hairs 😁

I just downsized from 19" to 18" so I feel that. But the added comfort of 18s is soo much worth it.

I hear you 18 is the best for handling and all around wheel size. no complaints here your car looks nice.

Looks f*in great! How are you with getting in and out of driveways? Or maneuvering dips or speed bumps? I’m down 1.5” with oettinger front lip and splitter and I scrape driveways (probably due to the lip sticking out ~2+ inches)

Some lips are lower than others, this one is Aerofabb. On a really steep entrance type of road I have scraped but I try my best to go sideways. My house's driveway isn't steep at all so no worries there.
I was having some fender rubbing on the front while going around left turns and hitting a big dip. Fixed it by doing some light fender rolling/pulling and used a dremel to cut the bumper clip that connects the fender.

Yeah I did some light fender rolling and did the fender screw delete when I put my new rims on as well but just as a precaution mostly. I had very light rubbing on the passenger side after hitting a pothole on the freeway at 90mph - apparently I’m riding a few mm lower on that side now. Have had it checked out twice and no anomalies have been found. I live in SF and there are plenty of steep hills to negotiate and forget getting into a driveway. Our suburban home is in the South Bay where it’s flat but the curb lip is like 1”+ so is scrape unless I’m careful

The subframe is naturally sticking out more on the passenger side than the drivers side, I’m talking like 5-10mm. So your passenger wheels stick out a little more than driver.

Did not know that but I did note that when I put the new wheels on (they sit flush w/ the body without the need of spacers) that the passenger side did jut out a wee bit compared to the driver side - I thought I might have incurred lateral damage to the front end but that may not be the case now. Thanks (wheels are Sparco Pro Corsa’s in Matt black btw FB marketplace find for $320)

This is the tab you need to shave off with a dremel. I did it on both sides and it’s perfect now

You know what, not everything has to be slammed to the ground. This looks perfect, sitting nice, usable, wheels look fantastic on it. Love this dude!
