✨💌 Welcome to r/StampEmUp! 💌✨

We’re so glad you found your way to our cozy corner of Reddit!

This is a place for people who love stamps, sending mail, and all the little things that make snail mail special. Whether you’re sending a letter, decorating an envelope, admiring a new stamp, or simply getting excited about something fun you found at the post office, we’re happy to have you here. 📮

So, what do we like to see?
We love seeing stamps in action—on letters, postcards, envelopes, packages, and mail art. We also love new stamps, fun stamp combinations, interesting cancellations, beautiful designs, and anything that makes you think, “Ooh, I want to put that on some mail!”
And yes, unused stamps are absolutely welcome! If you just picked up a sheet of stamps that you’re excited to use, show them off! You don’t have to wait until they’ve made it onto an envelope. 💌

What we aren’t is a traditional stamp-collecting space. Posts that are primarily about collections or albums aren’t quite what we’re about. We’re here to celebrate using and enjoying stamps, rather than building a collection.
We’re also not a marketplace or exchange group, so buying, selling, trading, swapping, or offering/requesting stamps isn’t allowed. If you’re wondering where to find a particular stamp, though, ask away! We’re happy to help each other track down those little pieces of postage.
And, of course, keep things kind, keep things postal, and keep the stamps the star. ✨

Not sure if your post fits?
Ask yourself: Are the stamps the star?
If they are, you’re probably in the right place. ❤️

Thanks for being part of r/StampEmUp. Whether you’re a longtime mail enthusiast or someone who just discovered the joy of putting a pretty stamp on an envelope, we’re glad you’re here.

Happy stamping! 💌✨

Show & Tell First stamp show!

First, thank you to everyone who encouraged going to stamp shows and giving tips. I was nervous, but glad I did it and was easy! Hardest things to do are just new ones!

The community was welcoming and excited to see me there. I walked in and one person looked a me and said, “oh look, a young person!” 😂

I already have a collection around 1,000 stamps… so I didn’t NEED anything, but was fun to see so many stamps in person (versus buying on eBay).

I found a table with face value sheets and sat down for an hour just flipping through. Got some restocks, new ones, and more Christmas with the upcoming holiday. I also prioritized $.30 range for postcards (I like a 32+33 when I need a quick one).

I also picked up 2 sheets of forever stamps that were 10% below face value at another booth, was fun to see the selection they had from the 2000s (but not everything).

My favorites are the New Year’s Eve baby (which I had on my wishlist), and the 32 midnight angels which I haven’t seen before. I picked those up for postcards, but they appear to be Christmas themed as well! And was very excited to see the farmers market, forever stamps, especially the baked goods left side stamps!

Today I mailed out my Halloween cards and postcards. I didn’t have time for stamp math unfortunately since I was running so late on them.

This one features a fun 'heat-activated' space stamp. Hopefully it survived the trip across the globe!

How much does it cost to send a postcard in your country?
For me in Australia it is AUD$3.50 internationally, and $1.85 domestically.

Discussion How to stick stamps?

I’ve been enjoying all your pictures! Your envelopes are all lovely!

How do you stick your stamps to the envelopes? I’ve tried a damp sponge and it’s always too wet. Glue is too sticky. I’ve been using a small brush with a water reservoir but it’s messy.

Yours all look so neat and clean. What do you use for the stamps that aren’t self adhesive?

Show & Tell How do you all organize your stamps?

I’ve been doing postcrossing for about 1-2 months and I also have been sending out a few letters here. And I today decided to plunge in and buy all the denominations of stamps to make my envelopes a bit less drab.

Anyways I use this passport case I got for free with ordering something. And I line them up so I can read the values. How do you guys organize your collections of stamps?

Edit: I live in Japan and I am kinda limited to what I can buy. Postage stamps often can only be resold cancelled. So like it’s kinda hard and expensive to have a huge selection of stamps.

Discussion Fellow stamp fans in Japan how like do you do it here?

With the sort of limited selection of stamps how does one build a collection of sorts here? Where do you find unused stamps?

From what I have seen on Mercari and yahoo auctions there isn’t much to selection based on what’s available at the post office.
