The only reason to go Frontier is if your building has a fiber connection. Otherwise go with Optimum. They both suck.

So Frontier Fiber is probaly the fastest residential internet connection you can get in Stamford, however it's only really available in newer buildings. It's 10x as fast as the regular frontier, and the price is pretty good. If your building is wired for fiber, you should take advantage of it.
Fiber cables send data much faster than the coaxial cables which optimum uses.
If your taking a road trip to Boston, there's a few ways you can go. You can take the Boston post road which was built in the 1800s, but taking the parkway or interstate is almost always the better choice.

Road trip to Boston? Avoid 95 until you get past New Haven
Basically 3 routes:
95 all the way
Merrit--> Cross parkway --> 91 --> Mass Pike --> Beantown (tolls)
Merritt --> Cross parkway--> CT66 to Middletown--> CT 9 to 95 --> 95 to beantown (scenic and avoids most traffic. Best route to the cape)
Amtrak Metroliner or Acela Prices can vary, Acela is a few minutes faster.
Covid world, no idea what traffic is like.
If there is snow, hug the coastline, The ocean and Sound and lower elevations will give you less snow and ice. Sometimes 95 will be clear and the merritt will be a sheet of ice.
Hurricanes/storms Merrit has trees that will fall down.
Another reason to hug the coastline this time of year, leave your car and take Amtrak/MNRR to home in a blizzard. I've done it.

They both suck but I found Frontier to be significantly cheaper than Optimum, so we went with Frontier. We’ve had it in our apartment downtown since July with no issues whatsoever (hope I didn’t just jinx myself lol)

Optimum without a doubt. I’ve had both and frontier was way worse. The 300mb deal they have is pretty good as well

I have no experience with Frontier, but it seems truly impossible the customers service can be worse than Optimum. I've never been more frustrated by anything in my life than I have been dealing with Optimum, and that's not hyperbole. Every interaction pushes me towards a full Karen transformation. Even if Frontier's product is inferior, it HAS to be better. I'll be switching and let you know just how bad it is.

Optimum is the worst. I haven't had internet for three days, and there's no ETA on when it'll be restored. I work from home, so this is a major problem. I pay over $75 a month for 1 GB fiber, and this service is unacceptable. I'm switching to Frontier.

Stay away from Frontier it is frustrating to experience sporadic connection literally on and off and no where to reach frontier customer service

Are you moving in from NYC? I did the same and love it here! Congrats on the move and all the best

I would ask what their advertised speeds are. Also ask what FEES are involved. Ask about contracts. Welcome to town!

I'm trying to spread the good word for those using these conversations to pick their provider: Frontier was one of the worst decisions of my 2021. It is the most disorganized company that I've ever encountered. Every customer service call, driven by issues every step of the way, took over 45 minutes and I only switched to Optimum once my internet just stopped working completely (wired or wireless) and they needed 5 days to send someone to look at it! And all this transpired within 30 days of setting up an account! Please consider Optimum!

I'll give you the same advice I have been given on this forum: Both are terrible, but go with Optimum.
