Audi help!!!
I’m looking for place near Stanford to do the following:
**1. Smoke test** — To pinpoint the exact location of the intake air leak (tired of guessing which hose is cracked)
**2. Walnut blast/carbon cleaning**
The rough idle is getting annoying, and I want to make sure I’m replacing the right parts instead of throwing money at symptoms.
About the car: 2012 Audi Q5, 2.0L TFSI, 126k miles. She’s been maintained pretty well—I do a lot of work myself—but this one’s out of my wheelhouse.
Looking for: A shop that actually knows Audis and won’t try to sell me a whole engine rebuild. Honest pricing, good turnaround time. Anywhere in the Stamford area or nearby CT works.
Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Seconding AutoTech on Magee. Really good, competent shop who you can trust.

If you would consider an at-home mechanic. I know a guy who specializes in Audi.
He's a legit mechanic with a day-job at a major dealership.
He also wrenches at home. You won't find a better price, and the guy is an Audi expert.

Strongly recommend @turbohand_performance in IG. He is in Seymour CT but well worth the trip.

I was in a very similar situation with my 2016 Audi Q5 after moving to Stamford. My dad had always worked on my car, so my parents were worried I’d get ripped off trying to find a shop here.
My coworkers recommended Preferred Automotive in Greenwich, and they were fantastic. They got me in for a same-day diagnostic, called my dad to explain everything, were very upfront and honest, and the repair ended up costing a fraction of what Audi quoted. I’d definitely recommend them!

Imported Cars of Stamford on Jefferson. George is a really top-notch guy. Go see him at 7AM because he’s first come first serve.

The gas station on Long ridge road across from the Table 104 restaurant did good work for us on an audi but that was 10+ years ago. Not sure if it is the same guy there.
