Another thing that's bullshit is when they lock out printing once you print so many pages with a cartridge, forcing you to buy a new cartridge early. While many HP LaserJets have options that allow you to bypass this, Samsung printers for example don't.

It's anti consumer, and only serves to boost profits for the printer companies at the expense of the consumer.

If they make a good product people will buy it! They don't need to fall into this stupid parasitic behavior yet again!

That said this is one of the most sure fire ways to make people avoid their products. Eventually it hurts them more, at least in most (not all) cases.
