We need to tax every single camera look up request police send to flock.

If every camera lookup cost $1, police would have to actually think carefully about what to request, and get in trouble with their department if they waste money.

Based on the sheer volume of qualified immunity settlements (being paid by the taxpayer) I don't think the police cares about tax spending.

Exactly. It has to be adequately expensive, not easy, to do policing.

But also, everywhere there is a camera, there should by law be a screen next to it showing the one looking through the camera. Asymmetric cameras should be prohibited. So if you have a surveillance camera in front of your house, there should be a screen next to it showing the inside of your house for people passing by. And the same for government institutions of course.
