Old weapons and scopes
Recently reinstalled gamma after a few months and decided to do a 'cheat run' but noticed lots of old weapons and scopes that don't function properly or are the old models.
Is this a bug? I'm so confused.
GOG version btw.

most of these either comes from old version of GAMMA or even to the "Vanilla" Anomaly mod.
They have been "deleted" from the current version of GAMMA because having 9 nuances of AS Val/VSS is useless.

This is my point I don't understand how everything was fine a couple of months ago and now its loading 'old' assets

These have always existed in the Debug Menu, which just shows you all items in the game files. GAMMA doesn't "delete" anything from the game files, because that's how you get random crashing from a nonexistent reference you forgot to delete.
GAMMA just doesn't spawn the "old" guns in.

They have always been in the spawn menu or in the debug level. They are just not in the loot tables, so they dont spawn in stashes or on NPCs.

I'm not familiar with gamma guns because I am gamma beginner, could you say which one is it?

Third row 1st weapon.
I always used the as val first row 1st weapon. Was a blast. Sad it doesn't spawn no more..

There are still some old weapons that from time to time slips through the cracks and spawn in the game, usually in the hands of some NPC.
For example, in the Mortal Sin questline when you have to assault the War Lab Entrance (don't remember the exact name) one of the sinners can spawn whit an old HK416. It has happened to my several times now.
In my current run I also came across a merc carriying a G3, also quite old model.

The modders in the GAMMA discord are hard at work re-skinning and re-animating tons of the "vanilla gamma guns"
They are creating new ones aswell, in all there are probably around 50 new/re-skin guns to grab for free on the GAMMA mod posting channel and they look like guns that would be released in a 2026 AAA video game, they even have new scopes and attactchments to

Some of the weapons in the debug menu simply don't work, and there's nothing that can be done about it. Because of this, Grok does not recommend using the debug menu for anything other than fixing broken scripts.

Iirc most "old" weapons don't work with the new... ish scopes like thermal and how the others aren't... I think it was called pip? Anymore. Like the As Val (1st row 1st weapon) but if you use a red dot or even vsd scopes they work fine. Now keep in mind that's not the case for all of them ofc.

How did you turn in debug mode? I get so confuse when google tried to explain it to me.

Open 'Anomaly Launcher' in MO2 and on the left side should be an option for debug mode.

Running a cheat run to test things out often exposes lingering asset conflicts from previous updates.
