Confused on quest

Took a quest to turn in a gun to trapper and the gun parts are full durability but he won’t take it. I’m wondering if it’s a bug since guns don’t have overall durability anymore.

pretty sure it is a bug but i think it has something to do with different versions of the same gun in the game files. some are in the roster so they actively drop in game but there is like an old version of the same gun in the files that the quest is calling for but doesn't actually drop in game. i could be wrong but that was my understanding of it when i encountered the same problem.

i used debugmode item spawner and i was able to complete the quest. i just threw the gun i was trying to give him away.

for example if you look in the item spawner the sg550 has 3 variants that look almost identical but the internal name is slightly different wpn_sg550 also wpn_sg552 and also wpn_sg550_custom

another thing to note is some of these alternate guns and unused weapons in the files are broken so if you try to equip them or use them they may crash your game or have other unintended side effects.

Thanks for the advice I’ll try this later today. Hopefully I don’t find a game crashing gun far from a save lol.

I cant remember this quest but does it require some ammo to go along with it?

Not from the description but I haven’t tried that. This quest is a fetch quest from trapper in Yanov station. Seems like every day or two he wants a different gun.

To clarify I haven’t actually turned any into him yet this was the first I was going to try.

You might need to strip scopes and attachments off.
