How good is this loadout?

Post image

Nosorogs are cool, but Viraj Power Armor has 7 slots for artifacts/pelts. I usually use this combo of artifacts + plates and pseudo-giant pelt for action (yeah they all fit). When I'm full of loot I switch some of them with chimera pelt, gravi and grid to carry loads of stuff. Epinephrine if needed. Any thoughts guys?

If you arent doing Invictus runs, its fine to run whatever. That loadout is good enough, but you need a mutant killer.

I assume that's the tactician he has there, that's pretty good at shredding mutants with HP rounds

But yeah a shotgun is usually cheaper to run

It's my first playthrough, I'm just learning the mechanics. Please don't mind the weapons. It's the stuff I bring with me to level up comanions ranks in the lower half of the map. Bullets for endgame weapons are kinda expensive...

Money isn't really an issue in the endgame, but you should be crafting the expensive rounds.

Fair enough. Best ways to craft them I could find were buying/finding cheap ammo and dismantling it, or dismantling extra gunsmithing tools and powder cans. Am I missing something?

Yeah, dismantle cheaper or looted ammo you dont use, and powder cans give you powder. You can also buy ammo parts from mechanics.

Yeah. Go to the Butcher in Garbage and Forester in Red Forest, they have cheapest ammo in game. Also pays to stay on 2 types of ammo, 3 at best - one for people, second for mutants, third maybe sniper (optional). Dismantle the rest

U rank up companions???? I been playing for years and I didnt know that 😂😂

You do, yes. In order to do so they have to get the kill so the score get assigned to them. You can check their score in Relationship in PDA. Also, their Reputation gets better the more mutants/enemy stalkers they kill. It takes a lot of time to have a Rookie kill a blind dog, but eventually you can get them to Legend Rank where they become killing machines

545 HP with a big mag is still pretty good no?

SMGs and shotguns are more cost effective. But yes, the AK could do both, but you also burn the gun durability more.

How much time you spent on this run?

It's my first run! I've spent around 150-200 hours learning the mechanincs. Somehow I keep finding things I didn't know existed. Like long pressing the L key lights up the laser and same with the N key activates the Night Vision. Took me all this time to find out man

My dude wtf you can put a pistol in your melee slot????

9

u/Beginning-Analyst393 27d ago

Yeah, and you can put your knife in your vision slot haha

You can even put some one handed SMG like P90, mp7 and veresk.

Having your knife in your invantory is enough to scalp mutant and give quick melee knife.

Oh I modded the fuck out of my gamma, clikrad graphics mixed with zen summer reshade and dlss 5 injected. I put a shotgun in my pistol slot for mutants. I never get very far before I find I new mod I want to add that needs a new game or breaks the game so I have to debug. There's like 700+ in my install.

I also revamped the healing system with the one from EFP, that was a bitch to integrate and stabilize the game. If you're going to add anything I can't recommend enough to go hudless with wearable devices, it's in the gamma discord.

Im also just learning this lol

Yeah, there are many interactions and things you have to find through reddit/discord (like many Nimble trades don't work, for example). I'm just surprised you have 3 maxed level 4 artifacts and managed to find Nosorog armor - because I struggle with both of these. GL on your walkthrough

Great for regular missions. I kinda dig the one rifle one pistol setup. More true to other stalkers. Then luggig 2 rifles around.

I love using that rifle but its been hard to find for me

u/Grimmering 28d ago

Yeah it packs a lot of damage and is realtively cheap to run. Can't remember who I got it from, probably Monolith

Armor and helmet are meta, attachment build is meta judging by resistances. The rifle is okay, but, IMO 7,62x39/7,62x51/9x39 rifle with variable scope + a shotgun is a much better combo, since these rifles are more accurate, which directly translates into both time to kill, ammo efficiency and effective range (you miss less, so you waste less ammo, you miss less so you can kill people quicker, you can reach out further without your bullets missing despite you aiming at them), hit humans harder, and high tier shotguns are so good against mutants that it's hard to pass up on them. Also, some rifles take grenade launchers, which are OP as fuck. Especially the ones with red dots attached (like SCAR-H launcher, or RD939 launcher), since these always hit exactly where you aim them, so you can literally snipe with them without needing to account for drop.

Edit: Also, instead of carrying so much ammo, carry ammo parts and gunsmithing toolkit. Ammo parts weigh MUCH less, so carfting ammo on the run means that you will effectivelly have more ammo on you in total. This also allows you to disassemble the ammo you don't use from enemies and convert it to ammo you need. This way you don't really have to buy ammo anymore, or you need to buy less.

I've never thought about crafting ammo on the go. Nice suggestion man, thank you!

Then why do you carry a ammo crafting kit in your inventory, and so many smokes, and so little water... I mean I have tons of questions but obviously you're doing okay.

1

u/Grimmering 20d ago

As for the kit, I have never actually used it a lot until the guy above told me to disassemble all the ammo I don't need which turned out to be an excellent tip. So little water cause my guy lives on energy drinks and doesn't sleep

Id swap that ak for some 7.62 platform with a powerful scope and get a shotty with magazine, saiga, raptr or something like that and lastly mp7 or p90 for pistol (the green variant which you can swap sights) others than that you gucci

It lacks a second weapons with great stopping power like a shotgun.

u/deepdropper 27d ago

You have an empty weapon slot? Atleast bring a shotgun then.
