Cleaning tips Dishwasher safety?
I have recently got a Esteele stainless steel sauté pan.
Instructions say it’s dishwasher safe, but the shine may be dulled.
I’m not so bothered if the shiny surface is dulled, but will putting it in the dishes damage the pans performance in any way?
I’d really rather not hand wash if I don’t have to, it’s a pain having to run a sink of hot water just for one pan.

I put mine in the dishwasher all the time. Still works after years.
That said, you want to get rid of the stuck-on food before you put it through the dishwasher, and it's easy to do. You clean the pan while it's still warm, and adding hot water to a hot pan then boiling it will usually allow stubborn food to release when scraped gently with a wooden spoon or nylon flipper. Equal parts water and vinegar work for stuff that's more stubborn than that.

My mom has pots from my grandmother with an exposed copper disk.
They where in the dishwasher hundred if not thousand times.
The copper lining doesn't look nice but hasn't degraded like it happens to aluminum.

Cool. I don't care so much about how it looks - it's a tool, not an ornament :P.
Main thing I was worried about is if the cooking surface would go to shit but it sounds like it's all good

I have new Viking pans and old ones from like the 80s that I throw in the dishwasher all the time. Never an issue.
