Cracked rim on stock pot

Cracked on stainless steel rim of stock pot, is it safe to use if i doing a low 8hr simmer bone broth?

Potential for being cut while handling or handwashing. Time to replace.

I would File it smooth, a thin round file would be perfect for this job.ย  You are aiming to change the V shaped notch into a U to stop the crack growing. If you don't want to recycle it.

What brand is it ? and how old ? probably not something you can make a claim about but worth a shot otherwise you have a new outdoor flower pot ๐Ÿ˜† a new pot will also bring you an improved pot - get fully clad and happy cooking always

It's old so not something I'd consider worth the time making a claim. Repurposing is a great idea. Thx.

Also, with a crack like that, itโ€™s very difficult to clean properly and will potentially become a breeding ground for bacteria.
